I have a race only SM bike, CRF250R... no lights of any kind, nor does it have a battery. I was thinking of getting it plated to tool around town on, mostly for kicks and giggles.

One route is to convert, add larger stator etc, or I was thinking just adding a rechargeable battery, headlight that meets minimum requirements, pressure activated brake lights, turn signals (do I need them to ride during the day?) and call it good. If I can get 3-4 hours of light from this setup and then go home and re-charge I'd be happy.

    Thoughts?

If it will pass the inspection then I don't see why not ;)

Sounds like an interesting venture. Maybe do an HID so it doesn't use as much power as a halogen?
