The Vmax might have more HP as standard but it has almost 600cc less. To create power without forced induction displacement and max RPM are two critical factors one of which the Vmax woulld start out at a huge disadvantage for. As pistons, cranks and most of the rotating mass parts will be swapped out the difference in RPM might not be enough to make up the difference.

Alot of the fastest bikes on the salt flats are HD's. I pass them every week on the streets and have yet to see one keep up with me :thefinge:
