First...I actually got that parts bike running!!! I did some tinkering, parts swapping from my VF500f (see my project thread) to the parts bike, a little gas into the carbs, and vroom!! I know the engine runs now....next step is to clean out the carbs and run the engine till it warms up....then check compression and look for any oil leaks. I have all the receipts for the engine rebuild from the previous owner so I may have a good engine on stand bye for my Interceptor.

Second....I got to go on a night ride on a Hayabusa tonight.....it was awesome! I have to get me one of them.....The turns were so smooth, all I had to do was clamp the tank with my legs and lean a bit and the bike flowed into turns. And OMG...the throttle. I was giggling 1st to 2nd to 3rd to 4th...never got past 4th but who cares!! It was a religious experience and I will be doing that again....in the daylight.

That bike has always intimidated me, but I now know that todays bikes are nothing compared to what I am used to. The power was manageable as long as I was "good", but the devil came out to play a couple of times..... a flick to 1/8th throttle in 3rd and I was at 80 in about a second...wow!!

Here is a terrible picture of the bike... this thing is a rocket ship!

Did you actually get near the redline? Or just a little part throttle midrange thrill?! :nana

Thanks! I appreciate the offer to help when needed.

Oh...definitely not. I only lightly flirted with the throttle and that was thrilling enough. Since it was not my bike and not an animal I had ever played with before I was cautious as heck. But it was enough to put a grin a mile wide on my face while accelerating. :mfclap:

I hope to ride it again soon.

3rd gear and only 80? Wait for your daytime ride and some more comfort with the bike. You'll shift into 3rd at about 120-130 :)

I can't wait!! Better pics to come...maybe a vid, no scratch that.... I don't want to be arrested. lol

I already spoke to the guy and I am set for another ride any time I want. He fried his leg on the exhaust pipes and I fixed up his wounds....so I now have a friend for life. lol

    The power is intoxicating!!!

Ya know what first came to mind when I read the Title. (let's not go there) Sounds like something good, has come from your labors. But when your old, ya eyes don't see too well. Me thinks I saw some head lites in the background...AJ
