Discussion in 'Motorcycle Talk' started by 08Yammy, Aug 6, 2012.

  1. Ok, So I just thought I would ask.... (flame suit on)

    Pretty Freak'in silly!

You won't be able to prove it's yours.

  3. VIN is also stamped into the steering tube.

Ask the local DMV or licensing office for the real answer.

  4. What's your reason for removing it?

  5. I am aware of the stamp so I can "prove its mine"

I was just hoping others may have done the same or at least looked into.

  6. Honestly, really just looks...

I s'pose you'd chop of your nose to make your face look sleeker, too.

    Both are ridiculous ideas.

    Uh...... no.

  9. why would you want to (other than it'll add 5hp)?

  10. Devil's Advocate: Because it's a big ugly white sticker glued to a beautiful black frame. Honda had it right back in the '80s - smaller black-painted foil sticker.

  11. Hmmm.... well bike is all black and silver and a big white sticker on by nice black frame looks like sh*t.

  12. I see your point. Mines tucked out of eyesight so doesn't bother me. Is it even legit to remove it??

  13. Honest advice: you need to ride the bike more and stop looking at it. Unless youre making a show quality bike, nobody cares about the vin tag.

  14. very true never notice them on other bikes.

  15. Oh I ride believe me, and I see most points, my thought is I have spent about $2000 to make it look better and its kinda like a tag on our clothes.

    I like looking perfect lol

  16. leave it, if you go to sell it it will look fishy if its torn off.

So tape a sheet of black plastic over it with some black tape.

  18. Even if it's stamped on, I believe it's a crime to remove the sticker. Like tampering with the VIN on a car. But I could be wrong. Covering it up with tape or whatnot is as far as I would ever take it.

  19. I know exactly what your saying. It looks like shit! If you don't like it take it off.

If it was a penalty of the law it would say so just like the tags on a matress

  20. the fact that you're asking means you know the right answer.

    do it, or don't.
