What did you do to your bike today?

  1. Pretty simple.. if you did something to your bike today let us know what you did.

    OK, thread rules:

    1. Please keep this on topic! I like seeing and discussing what others have done to their bikes. Please share what you've done, are doing, or are planning to do, especially if it involves pictures and painstaking details. For general banter, please see...the General Banter thread.

    2. If you're not sure if it's OK to post something, please refer to rule #1

    Ill start,

I put in my new 1216 Big bore/High Compression pistons

also slotted my cam sprockets so i can set my cam timing exactly where i want it.

Cool deal. I'm looking at the oil level, looking at the chain, checking air pressure and am proceeding out the door to thrash said tires. Bye now.

Got to break in the No Mar and installed and balanced a new pair of Dunlop N-Tec's on the busa. I should have bought one of these years ago!

  4. I put in a more aggressive cam on my throttle tube today. I found a guide using a filed down zip tie glued onto the throttle tube where the throttle cable runs around it... that was a godawful f*cking nightmare of an attempt. My zip tie was too fat and wide, so no matter how much I pre-bent that sucker and no matter how many clamps, other zip ties, super glue, and epoxy I used it was too strong and pulled off the tube. I got it once, but ran into clearance issues and started throwing tools. :rant

Then I decided to quit being a stubborn dumbass and just machined one out on the lathe that was right next to me the whole time. ended up increasing the tube diameter about 3/16ths of an inch with nice smooth tapers. Cut the distance to WOT by about 1/4 - 1/3. No more having to regrip while riding!

This combined with yesterdays new chain and going up one tooth on the front sprocket, makes the bike much more fun down low as i can rev it up much easier and have a usable first gear, as well as keeping my wrist happy and cutting down on the vibration at cruising speeds. Once my new shock gets here it'll be like a brand new bike!

I forgot to take pics for you guys :angry7:

  5. Getting the vintage dirt bike running and shredding again... took it out for a ride to test my work.:mfclap:

    Also 'lubed' all the cables.
    Adjusted the parking brake too.

I had Nels finalize the tune on the vstrom. after a shitty mechanic (me) fucked up the valve job and re-installed the cams a few teeth off, i had nels try and tune over it not knowing what the issue was... then i took it to SSU and adrian fixed everything i fucked up.

original dyno tune was at 92hp, then i did the valves, the hp dropped to 75ish.... freaked out and had adrian go through it, he found the cams to be off, took it back to nels for a proper tune on a freshly tuned motor and it put out almost 96 hp. WOOT!

I rode the 250 to get car parts...

And put the cover on the C90.

But I'm going to get a second 250 tomorrow!
That'll likely result in a project thread.

  11. I eye-f*&$#d the shit out of mine while passing through the garage multiple times to work on my dads shitty Jag.

  12. I checked pressure, oil, and overall as I am leaving in the morning on a week-two week trip.

  13. Now that it's getting warmer I wired my WR250R for my heated vest! Next thing I need to do is set it up with a mount for my Garmin 660. I already have GPS mounts on the Buell and BMW and it just takes a second to switch the Garmin from one bike to the other.

  14. I rewired my tail light so it works properly. Yay!

Lubed the chain, removed the Holeshot backrest and the Ventura rack, replaced the stock tiedown bolts and rear grab rail. Repaired a missing bolt on the rear fender. Replaced a damaged Master Cylinder screw, wiped the bike down and got ready to ride the heck out of it tomorrow.

  16. Bike #1,Put new clutch and brake levers on then rode it to Monro to help friends, stopped at Clear View Mc D's and checked out the rat rods. Rode it home.
Bike #2, Put it on the Tender, pulled off the goofy little round blind spot mirrors.
Next, strip it, tune it. Then on to some big time cleaning.

  17. Washed 'em and took 'em out for a ride!!

Hung trailer in the garage, then rode the S1K for a couple hours. Ended up at Snoqualmie Falls and back home. Screwing around with trailer lights again.

  20. I got all the fairings I fetched this weekend out of the car and started seeing how it all fits on the ZX-6

I can't get really serous about it until my gaskets arrive and I can put the engine back together.. Then the exhaust, oil cooler & radiator can go back on.
