***WMRRA Round 3 (at The Ridge) Corner Workers Wanted***

Discussion in 'Motorcycle Talk' started by CpjMech, May 16, 2012.

  1. Hello everyone! Round 3 of WMRRA racing is upon us!

We're looking for Volunteer Corner Workers to come join us for the inaugural Sprint and Endurance Races at the brand new Ridge Motorsports Park in Shelton, WA for the Memorial Day weekend. We will be racing all 3 days (May 26,27&28 ) Sprint Races on Sat and Sun and a 2hr Ninja 250 and 6hr big bike endurance on Monday! We had several PNWR members at rounds 1&2 and would love to have you again!

For some added incentive I'd like to offer Volunteer Corner Workers a FREE Taste of Racing session ( Work one day get one TOR at The Ridge, work 2 days get 2 TOR's. Working the Endurance Race on Monday w/ get you 2 TOR's at the track of your choice!

But wait there's more! We'll also throw in a hotel room at the Shelton Super8 for as many days as you'd like to CW (up to 3 and conditions apply, like bunking up w/ another person, 2 per room w/ 2 beds. If you want your own room we'll pay up to $40 a night).

Come join us! Love watching motorcycle racing? Want to see what happens behind the scenes? Join us for the best seat in the house!

As a club WMRRA aspires to provide the best possible environment for people to enjoy the thrill of racing on a closed road circuit. We believe the key to a successful racing event is giving maximum attention to rider safety. All races at Pacific Raceways and The Ridge are held with over 50 track officials, the bulk of which are the vitally important "Volunteer Corner Worker."

Corner Workers ensure safety in a variety of ways, including:

Radio communication with race "control" and other race officials.
Communicating to riders with flags about track conditions and safety.
Keeping the race surface clean, clear and safe.
    Assisting riders who have problems.
Directing riders toward safe racing lines.

If you’re interested in joining us, please reply via email (corner.captain@wmrra dot com) and I will get you all the details.

For those of you who haven’t volunteered with us before:

We provide hot coffee, tea, water, breakfast, snacks and lunch and adult beverages at the end of the day!

If you have any questions at all please don’t hesitate to email me! Also check out

  16. Yes! Definitely interested! Email sent!
  17. Hey, Craig. Are there corner stations in place, or should I bring a canopy of my own to keep the sun off? Just trying to decide on the car bike thing, depending on what the needs are.

  18. The Ridge has very nice covered corner stations in place. 8)

  19. The corner stations are so nice, they should have a red carpet leading to the entrance. Prepare to be spoiled.
