Yamaha r6

Discussion in 'Motorcycles' started by curtman30, May 29, 2012.

  1. Looking for an r6. Preferably a 2004 to 2008. Not looking for anything more than $5000.

I live in Corvallis, so I would not like to have to go any further north than Vancouver, WA nor further south than Eugene.

    Thanks

  6. Not that it's not a nice bike, but the brakes on the 05 were significantly better than the 04-03. and even the 06-09 r6s.

For the record, that's not mine it's my neighbors. I told him I'd pimp it where I could since he doesn't check much here. Contact him if you're interested!

Personally not in the market - just giving my $.02 which is what the internet is all about :). The <'05 year R6 and the R6S will be a much better street bike - definitely more comfortable with a bit more midrange. I personally also really like the look of the older R6, the newer models seem... overwrought with their goofy plastics designs. I'd wager someone would have much to complain about the brakes on the older R6 they were always considered very good. The difference radial mounted calipers make in overall brake performance is fairly small.

  9. The brembo master on the 05 made a large difference in the feel of the brakes, which is why they're still using them on the R1's and new R6's.
