Does anyone have the info for the photographer (Zach maybe?) that was at 2Fast today? I forgot to get it before I left the track. Thanks in advance.

Wow....what a great day.... by the end of the day I was doing so good....IMO....Also, IMO when it comes to newbie newbie first track company/school, 2Fast got my vote....The owner is the one teaching the class all day long, the knowledge I got was really amazing, and made the clasess really fun....
oh, Trunkmonkey will need new knee puks,,,, you were doing great.... It did scare the crap out of me when I touched in T-3... Also I had fun passing you on the straight....:evil4

But man, those 30 min sections kill you....I'm beat...

So when is the next one???

Yeah, u definately were faster at the end of the day neil. Thanx to all involved it was a blast. I'm really tired to but would do another tomorrow if I could . I'm gonna have to invest in nicer sliders as these just wore so fast. I love makin passes, but do wish I had more down the straight. Oh well I'd rather have a lighter bike than more power if it came down to it. I c a 600 super sport in my future, but the sv is too much fun on the road, in the rain and such

zoomnfocus.smugmug.com and zoomnfocus@yahoo.com I believe.

I had a great time today!

Ed, if someone had told me a year ago that one day I would be chasing you around the track, I would have thought they were crazy! I can't believe how much you have improved since our first ride together!

Mark, you should try a 600 on the track. Having turn 1 closing in on you at 160+ mph (indicated) is something else!

Neil, glad to see you had a great time, got some great instruction and learned a lot.

Lee, Grant, Brian, a pleasure as always!

Awesome Awesome Awesome!
fantastic track day!!!

Faults:
1) kind of bobbled the bike a bit going into corners; however, learned to approach from about 2/3rds of the track from the opposite side.
2) Never hit knee on ground till I got to the pits
3) Got forced off of the track by one of our classmates, I could have hopped on the brakes a bit; not dump bike
4) ran off of the track on my own; did not make the corner and did not look ahead, looked where i was going, dumbbb; rode off and did not dump bike
5) Ran out of gas and got everyone red flagged. I signalled the OUT OF GAS Sign; however, ...
6) Did not realize what a gas pig I proudly own.
7) a little better prep ahead of time would have been a better way.
forgot some of the instructors names (not good)

Was a blast riding out there, TrunkMonkey was very competitive and I'd have to say, I had never seen such a blasted set of knee pucks in my life.
He is a speed demon and I can't wait to see him on a very fast 600.
Dude I have to say, you are ready!

There was all of our crew, everyone looked great out there. I even saw Neil get off of his bike a bit, he will be rocking in a few more track sessions.

Awesome, Got to say that the 2Fast Crew and EmDee our main instructor is 1st class group all the way. I have been to 3 different Schools and have to say this was a very good class.

The riding instructors where very patient, informative, and followed riders around / lead them and instructed. When I ran out of gas on the last sequence they got my bike gassed up and took it over to me.

Fantastic!

Going to a 2Fast School is money well spent!

We had a couple of the fellas who brought trailers SO Lee and Neil thanks!
Thanks for the Gas Soil.

Pooped out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great trackday!!!! Man I still can't believe how much I have improved on the track. 2 trackdays and I never got any 1 on 1 from an instructor. Everyone kept telling me that I looked real good and good lines and fast so I kept calm and not go to my head. I felt more at home on my bike than any other time I have riden her street or track! 2 trackdays with not 1 pucker!

Everyone looked great out there!!

Till next time all!
Ed

Yeah Ed u look great too. Ur improvement is remarkable, and if u do ride the street again, u'll b much safer. If u don't panic on the track during the little mistakes we all make, that will translate to the street. I tried to go to sleep, and the track kept replaying in my mind. My body was exhausted, but it was elevating my heart rate and jackin my mind up like caffine. What a day

Great day everyone! Nice to see some the PNW folks learning so quickly. Next track day will be up in Seattle in early July if anyone is interested.

Was a great day!

Incredibly intimidating doing a first track day, and being slotted in with all the faster group B guys (when I'm still a C level) was a bit unnerving.

Overall though, a fun time, and it certainly does help you improve your riding skills being able to take the same set of corners over and over. . .and over. . and over. . and

Oh yeah! I got my first track injury out of the way as well (Which I'm pretty sure means I'm automatically a race pro! )

During the 1:30pm session, the bike in front of me kicked up a rock towards the end of the back straight at about 80MPH. . .dunno how a rock got on the track. . .but it caught me right on the front of my boot and instantly bruised up my big toe. . made up shifting for the last 2 sessions a bit painful, but think that just means I need to buy better boots

For me, the class instruction for the 2fast wasn't anything new. . .if you've read Twist of the Wrist 1,2 or Total Control, or any of the racing oriented books, you've already gleaned that information. But doing the track and having instructors give you pointers after actually watching you was helpful for sure. The trick is actually putting all that knowledge into practice and becoming consistent and predictable. . . . (I really need to work on smoothness and lines, and PV2, if that was me that took your line on a corner, I'm waaay sorry bro )

Lots of cool peeps at the track, everyone was helpful, thanks again to Brian and Lee for letting us use your pit area, and tape and stuff!

Hey all, had a blast out there yesterday with you all! it was good riding with so many PNW guys at the track. Was having a great day up until my the second to last session when i tucked the front end in 3 and lowsided. Officially out of commission for about 2 months. Busted up my right foot pretty badly and have surgery scheduled on Wednesday to put it back together. I guess ill have plenty of time to put the bike back together! Thanks for a great day all!

Glad to hear you're ok! After seeing the bike, it doesn't look like you'll need that much time, it's all cosmetic

Good running with you Kasey!

Sorry about the down but glad it wasn't major; I thought your leg was busted or worse. We'll get you back out there before the season is over.

Lee's got some good video of you so you can show Mom the better side of track days. Looking forward to seeing you out there again.

What?
First and FOREmost...

did anyone else 'breeze' past that little bit of DRAMATIC news?

BUSA scrapped a knee in T3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(while 'dragging knee shouldn't be a 'goal', the fact that Neil is EASING into his comfort zone is PERFECT and AWESOME! -following him around yesterday a little, his form was PERFECT! eyes in the right place, body position, setup for corners...

The lesson here is to go at YOUR pace - ride your ride, it eventually all comes together! (did you see the left side of his tire?!?!)

Kasey - Dude - when I rolled through 3 behind your spill, you weren't moving at all! I was like !!!! Then you started moving around as I slowed, WHEW!!! THEN, got back to pits and your mom and some friends had come out to watch during their lunch break - THAT was some serious timing! wow... GLAD you are relatively ok! Hurry and Heal and get back on man! Any other words of wisdom on what happened or how to prevent??

Lee, Brian, Mark, EVERYBODY - you guys are simply awesome! Ed - you are flyin' man! Trunkymonky-damn! Sooo much fun! Thanks EVERYBODY!

anybody that hasn't - should!

Good to hear you are going to be ok. You just joined the "Low Side Club", welcome. A little duck tape and your bike will be ready to go.

Will have some video in a couple of days.

It was a wonderful day. Great fun hanging with you guys.

My bike was too slow in the straights. With my single cylinder i could hardly reach 100mph. Now i need another bike.

OUCHHHHHHH!
That toe looks like an oucher, you where wearing boots, many of us don't on the street, I hope everyone sees this.
How did a ROCK get on the track???? YIKES!

WRT riding faults, Hey, your 1st track day was better than mine.
Jason Pridmore Star School on Thunder Hill Raceway.

Let's see....ran off the track 4 times, cut people off, darn near stopped my bike in a hairpin a few times,.....ahhh

As I am sure you know, You are going to get better if you keep going to track/ school, reading, talking with your pals, and being on the forum, oh, drink coffee at AVA too.

We are all here to help the other get better, so no probs on the cutt off, I had to practice some avoidance skills and we are all the better for it!

Get well!

lol Yeah, I didn't know that pedicures were a pre-trackday requirement, but next time for sure I'll have prettier toenails before I post a bruised toe picture

(in all honesty, I'm just glad that thing didn't get kicked up any higher. . if it'd hit my leg or . . . helmet that would've been a bad scene).

Glad you got your tires mounted up and was cool seeing you out there out Clay!

Great day out there yesterday, glad everyone had a good time. Weather was damn near perfect! I was working T5 for most of the day, but the 3 hours I wasn't, I was out there tearing it up with you guys, helping who ever looked like they could use it.

Hope to see you at the next 2Fast event!

The rock most likely got stuck in someone's tire in the pits. I've had a rock or balled up piece of rubber hit me in the knuckles while doing triple digits in the strait... it fricken hurt!!

Well as far as i could tell, i was carrying a bit more corner speed in turn 3 and was in full lean, my knee and toe sliders were buried in the asphalt and i think that if i had tucked them up a bit farther i might have been able to hold it. My assumption is that the pressure i was putting on my knee unloaded the suspension on my bike too much for the angle i was at. This reduced traction on my front tire and the front end tucked and that was that. So if your gonna drag knee, make sure you can tuck it in as well and let the bike do the work! Fortunately my friends got thecrash on tape, so hopefully ill be able to provide more detail after i see it. I'll post it up when i get a chance. Thanks for all the well wishes, can't wait to get back out there with you guys!

actually, wife went hiking yesterday while I was at the track... and she got a 'post-hike' pedicure and is just ranting and raving about how good it felt to get a lower leg massage after hiking a few miles!

Speaking of awesomeness - after I got back to the house, she then took me out for susi! THAT was the perfect post-track day meal ever! not a HUGE steak to me - ya' know?

Yep thats me. Thanx again for the help, and the fuel. U rock . I'm hoping to make it out to TOR this weekend again. Ur tutolige helped a ton. Specially trying to follow u when we finally had some clearing. Watching ur lines, and what I assumed was ur braking. Man ur fast on ur SV. That was fun and helpfull for my first trackday and second time at the track (1 TOR).
