First track day ever...7-13 SRP.
So I have decided to run the new bike on the track. Who else is going to be there? I will be with Sideburns (Brian). I have another track day coming up on the 20th up in Canada. I'm friggin STOKED! What should I expect and what should I bring that I'm probably forgetting?

Are you bringing the RC8 to the track? That's a sweet bike, if it's there I'm going to have to stop by and see it at some point.

Damn Brian I'm gonna have to make it out to see it. I ended up having to replace the master cylinder on the SV because of a broken bracket that holds the brake lever. If I get it back together in time, I'm trying to be out there too on the 13th. We will see.

If you can make it to a PSSR day at PIR and there just happens to be one on the 14th. Trojan has the only RC8 here in town and it would be cool to see 2 RC8's on the track. Trojan is OMRRA #43 and a PSSR instructor so he can show you all you can absorb about riding this bike at speed.

That's a bad ass pic. I wish I had and extra $4000 for that Akrapovic exhaust. I've never seen one with the rear pegs and seat on before. It looks sick with the mirrors and rear fender/blinkers off. I cant beleive how easy it is to take that shit off. Seriously like 5 min.

Yeah Fred I'm still here. I just bought a SV650S a couple months ago and am hoping to get some stuff straightened out at work so they will let me ride next monday. Not sure if I"m gonna be able to make it though.

The RC8 looks so bad ass in track trim. If I buy one I'm gonna name it Dino as the tail reminds me of...

Will be great to meet you out there and see this beauty of a bike

Make sure to bring lots of water/gatoraid and stuff to eat through out the day. If you have a canopy bring it, or make friends with someone who does and share, shade will be important. As hard as it may be, get some sleep the night before. Show up as early as possible to give you plenty of time to get set up and not be rushed. Tape up the lights, blue painters tape works the best. Full leathers, boots, gloves and helmet of course. Good tires. Plenty of fuel, you'll burn through more than you expect, 10 gallons to be covered. Expect fun, laughs, and lots of great people in the pits.

See you there!

Come and corner work. Go to the inlandspeed site and sign up to corner work if you want to.

Hey, nice bike!

Call Andrew Cow at Cox Racing Group and get a radiator gaurd for it. He used my bike to mock up the production version. Big expensive radiator. Cheap insurance.

I'll be at the next PSSR day, Tuesday the 14th at PIR

Believe me, I did not pay $4K for that system. Also, I run the passenger pegs and seat all the time. On the track I can pick up stranded riders, or give a 2 up ride to a small person, preferrably someone under 1 and a half spins. It's just a little more functional for me.

I'll let you know how the new boingers are. New springs all around. Stock ones are too stiff. Initial compression is too harsh. I do mostly street riding with it, so I'm trying to soften it up a bit and be more compliant for on road riding. Even on the track it was harsh and hitting a few bumps while leaned over would cause the chassis to get unsorted. PIR is very smooth in most respects and it was still all wacky. So we'll see next week.

How much did you pay and where did you get your exhaust? My friends Aprilia makes my bike sound like and EX 250. I hate that.

Nice bike Brian!!
I'll be out there...look for a black Dakota extra cab pick up with a white enclosed trailer. My 954 will be looking ugly in primer white track skins.

My dealer swung me a killer deal on it when I bought the bike, actually before the bike arrived at the shop.

When I look at the exhaust I understand why it's a little more expensive than the rest. There is a little something extra in the quality and workmanship. Plus it sounds really bitchin'. The difference in weight is 16+ lbs.
