Take more tools, gas, tape, food, and drinks than you think you will need for a week long camping trip. Trust me, it is FAR better to have too much than to have too little.

Enjoy the track, it is a blast. DO NOT worry about going fast, you will get there eventually, worry about learning the track and getting smooth and consistent. You WILL get passed, don't try to keep up. Ride where you are comfortable, get smooth, and your times will drop. I just did my first track day in March, then my second in June. It is a blast. There is a good possibility that I will be there on the 17th, don't be afraid to come talk my ear off. I am not the most experienced by any means, but I will help where I can. Black bike, blue tank, black Dainese suit.

Oh yeah, HAVE A FRIGGIN AWESOME TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great! You are going to have a blast. http://pssrtrack.com The Gear Bag tab has some info if you haven't looked there.

You should check your brake pads, make sure you have plenty of wear left. The fresher side of an oil change is nice. The bike will handle better if your tires have a nice round profile, not a commuter flat spot from freeway running. Look over the bike and check for any loose nuts, bolts, brackets. Chain adjusted properly and master link secure. Fluids at proper levels.

Blue painters tape works great to tape up lights and signals. Take you mirrors off if its easy or you can tape them up. Unplug or pull the fuse for your lights if you want.

Most important. Bring a great attitude and no ego. Stay well within your comfort level try to never scare yourself. Explore new lean angles and speed in tiny very small increments. Relaxed, confident, very smooth on the controls is the best way to learn. Find instructors and ask for help. I think there will be a nice PNW group there too. I hang out by the Pirelli tent, make sure to say howdy.

Hmmm.. That's about all I can think of right now. Hope that helps. I'm sure others can add more.

dont forget the key to your bike...

bring food and water. LOTS of water.

bring shade if you can. EZ-up's work great

Bring a chair or something to sit in and take a rest between sessions.

Tools are great if you have em. if you dont, dont worry someone will and people are pretty good about sharing/helping

stands are a must if you have em.

a good tire pressure guage is also a must. pressures are very important at the track (and street too)

on the ego. check it at the gate and dont try to go fast. focus on learning properly. and that starts by going slow.

Best thing, is that you won't have an old lady driving her Outback in front of you... or your riding partner to run you over!

Come play at PR too sometime.

Thanks everyone for the advise and tips! Are there any good camp grounds close by with hook ups for the trailer? No ego here, just going to learn as much as I can and have fun while doing it! Oh yeah, one more question (at least for now), should I be concern about my suspension since the bike hasn't been set up for track? Thanks again!

I think you can stay overnight at PIR (check their site)?

There's generally a suspension guy at most track days who can set your bike up ($20-40; worth the $$) but if nobody is there don't worry about it. Relax and have a good time.

Yeah, listen to "this guy". He knows. I teched his Honda one time and just about $hit my drawers when I looked at his brakes. "Meh, don't worry about that, I have a lot left"........

No really, Del is correct. Make sure your drain bolt and oil filter are on correctly and tight, radiator cap too. Don't want anything to fall off and wet down the track. It's a PIA to clean up and we waste valuable and expensive tracktime doing it.
