By the time we packed up and loaded all of the 2Fast gear it was nearly 7pm. Stopped to eat dinner with Mark, Jay and Rob... service sucked, took nearly an hour to get our food... 350 mile drive with a 26' trailer that I have never towed before.... too tired to keep my eyes open.

It all adds up to a very late night.

Ahhh, Did you guys come back 90 or 5? Took me 7 hours to get home from Hood River yesterday. I left at 2, got home at 9.

Hit stop and go traffic in Vancouver, Chehalis all the way through to about 2 miles outside of Olympia. Then from Marvin Rd in Olympia all the way through the tacoma curves, then back on I-5 right after the 405 exit. Took I-90 to get over to the eastside (thanks to bryan for letting me know that 405 was screwed up), and took residential roads to get home from there. I-90 was EMPTY. Barely anyone on it, like 4 cars around me, I was astonished that nobody was using it. Apparently, everyone was using 520.

Wow what a weekend! I did the Fossil run on Sat. and stopped by the track just to say "Hi" and was coerced into staying for Sunday.... I'm glad I did!

The open track at 3 made up for all the red flags and I ran a one hour session with very little traffic. It's really hard to decide what the best part was.... The weather was perfect...the track was in good shape (except for the seams)... the hospitality was great (thanks Phil, you're the best)... The conversation was stimulating (thanks Clay!)...The times were low (holy $#!+ 1:55's on the KTM!!!) and to top it off I got my first ride on a true liter bike (thanks again Clay)..... Unfortunately Clay wanted his bike back after 6 laps!
I can't say that I condone the tactics used by the guys to keep me there, but I'm glad they did.
Thanks all!

P.S. Keep your eyes open for a bigbore track bike!!!!

Yea, the red flags on Sunday were unfortunate, especially considering there were hardley any on Saturday. It happens though. Everybody that stayed to the end should have left feeling they got plenty of riding time in though.

You were pushing that big KTM around very well!

Mic - I took 84 West to 205 North, then I-5 all the way to Arlington.

Mikey - It was great to meet you. You and Clay were great fun and it made Jim's (turn 13) day when I told him to black flag you when Clay wanted his bike back. Something about it not being fair that you were going faster on his bike than he does.

Good to meet Raephell and Cheric as well.

I Ride: your mom.
how come no one ever goes through yakima? there's practically no traffic, and it's almost the same distance. the only caveat is going up and down the hills, but that beats stop and go through town. that, and yakima's kind of lame, but you're only driving through it.

That is usually my path of choice to and from Hood River. It is much quicker than having to deal with traffic.

The only major issue there is, is having to pull all the grades if you are towing, especially if your vehicle may not be up to snuff to pull the grades for the distances they are.

Overall though, if you can pull them, it's much quicker, just more gas to consume.

That was a really fun Sunday! Definitely worth it riding there. Awesome track, it was a blast. Thought it was a lot more fun than PR.

Thanks again to all the 2-fast people, esp. Joe and Marshal for letting me pit with them, get gas and help me improve my line.

Paytheon - You the guy who had the red r6 with golden rims? Nice looking bike...we were going pretty similar speeds during the second session...which was more like the first session due to the accident that first run.

MikeyM - I see you were having so much fun on that GSXR you didn't notice the corner workers black flagging you to come in, eh

The black flag was a nice touch! I saw one of them after I got the checkered but I thought "That couldn't be for me, I'm not riding THAT badly!" Clay's responce when I finally came in was "That's just not fair." Not bad for a first trip on a liter bike, first time on a sport bike in years and third day at ORP

All you 2Fast guys....Great Job! Great meeting some of you. Although I did see one of your "Instructors" go off track twice in one lap! What was that all about?

alright so i'm horrible with names. I remember meeting joe and rob. Who was i with that had the silver cbr1000rr???

That track is crazy at first, but once i got to know it better it was so much fun! Minus the seams that i felt like i just slid across, one making me go off track, last session.

Silver CBR1000 is Marshal Marshall (Marshall is his name and he is our radio equipped on track marshal at all events except this one, where we all carried radios)

Way cool. With the exception of a very few that fell off of their tires, it sounds like everyone had a great time. I am glad to see people are coming around to ORP as it really is a fun track to play on. Whether it will ever be a good "race" track, that may come in time. For now, it is one very fun track day track for sure!

I'm looking forward to logging a faster time than MoDub next time around too 1 second Mo, that's all you got.....for now

My only complaint (and I know others were having a similar issue) is that I couldn't get my timer to consistently trigger off the beacon!!! I got like 5 solid readings ALL WEEKEND. So I have no idea what I was running before my times started to fall off from plain old wornouted-ness. sigh.
I caught you earlier in the day (can't remember where I got past) but the second time I ran across you later in the day I realized we were gonna have a blast (you were riding awesome)! Might have had some spirited back and forth but then we got red flagged!!!! arg. I was the guy who came up along side you and honked as we were coming off the track and gave you a thumbs up (I was on the primered special gixxer!) haha. Nice riding, dude! Good times.

We took that route. Was more traffic than last time in May but sounded WAY better than taking 5.

Best trackday I've had all season. It was a blast. Not as fast as Little D or MoDub but it sure was fun.

Many thanks to 2 Fast and all the crew that put it on.

It was nice to meet you too Greg. Didn't get much of a chance to talk to you at the track, but we did get to chat at Lanigan's place.

Ohhhh, That was you!!! Damnit man, soulda said "Hi" in the pits! I started the day on the stock rear tire and it tried to throw me off a couple of times. I picked up some takeoffs and everything changed. I was tweeking with the suspension during the morning sessions and then getting a feel for the tires but by lunch things were coming together.

we can confirm this with Deerhunter, but rumor has it Mike does suffer from the typical big BIKE malady... so something along the lines of 'itsyMike' may be appropriate as well!

*disclaimer - NOBODY would ever describe me as typical!!*

Besides some bike mechanical and gas problems, I had an awesome time thanks guys.

Clockwise is the better way to go imop, except turn 12 was kicking my ass...was trying to break right when I got to the crest and almost went off the track twice. Last session had a good run with a couple zuki guys, made the whole day worth it. 2 Fast is the most professional org by far, hope to do one more this year.
