Wow there've been some stories before for the 2008-2009 season, but this will make your eye balls spin in circles.

Sounds like the AMA is even more stupid now than it was when I rode with them in 99 (once was enough!!). They need to make their qualifying rules more strict and/or limit the number of entries - the limit back in 99 was 80 bikes - way too many on one track at a time, IMO, especially at a place like Loudon (1.3 mi). No one should have to pull on to pit lane to let other riders by - if the fast guys are that fucking fast then they should be able to pass lappers w/o any trouble! Unless the track is clogged up with 60 lappers...

sounds like too many bikes on track with too broad of a skill level. Also sounds like a buncha sandy hoo-ha's. (no offense meant to those who actually have hoo-ha's minus the sand.)

Its too bad really.... because all the drama aside, man, the Daytona bike class has some badddddddddddddddass racing. Just got caught up on the Topeka Kansas round. That was some of the best racing I've ever seen. Both race 1 AND 2. I hope some of these kinks work themselves out with the coming of the off season etc.

Many of the American Street Stock and Daytona sportbike races have been entertaining to watch, and aggravating at the same time, in regards to DSB anyway. imho.

Herrin's MX detour at Topeka was neato

Dean Adams threw in his 2cents about the AMA again

That's pretty much how I feel. The racing may have been good this year but I have just lost interest in AMA. I don't even know what time they are broadcasted. World Superbike is the one to watch this year, unfortunately with a few exceptions GP's have become like Nascar races, watch the first few laps in the garage while working on stuff, then watch the last few laps.

I've hear this many times, but I've only been following road racing for a couple years....he got in a court battle with the old AMA or something like that didn't he?

Check this out, kinda shows how AMA was run just a few years ago and how they already started screwing things up with manufacturers before now, I thought it was neat to learn about the planning and their opinions..

Edmonson basically created the supersport classes as the CCS series in the 80's, which soon became part of the AMA series. The AMA then tried to kick Edmonson out and keep the supersport series, so Edmonson sued and eventually won $3m from the AMA.

So people hate him because he sued a "close to not for profit" membership funded organization and was awarded $3m worth of the commoners money.......so whats the problem?

No, the AMA were the dicks in that situation. He deserved the money because they tried to screw him out of his creation. People hate him for the same reason now as then, he is a dictator who cares little for racer safety or anyones elses opinion, whether valid or not.
