Track Riding in the Rain - Page 2

Are you saying don't run 2cts on a wet track?

The only reason I would ride the wet track is cause I bought my ticket and dragged my butt there...would suck to just sit there smoking cigarettes.

Street tires will get you around the track if you have your mind set on it, just take it easy.

All I am saying is from my experience riding in the rain isnt something I want to do and dont do for fun. I do it because I race and when you race you dont realy get to pick and choose the weather you ride in.

I also get in enough track time that missing out on a few sessions a day doesnt bother me one bit, so I will choose to walk around the pits and shoot the shit if its a track day and mother nature decides to bend us over.

I'm gonna cross my fingers that if mother nature bends us over she only does it for a little while...and then let's us dry out again.

Don't mind losing part of a day...and shooting the shit.

Smoke some of these and the Pits will be enjoyable hehe

riding/racing in the rain IMO makes you smoother

Exactly. I hate track riding in the rain and will do almost anything to avoid it -- including signing up late to be as certain of the weather as possible. You may get stuck on a street ride in the rain but why pay for the privilege? For me the best I can say at the end of a rainy track day is I didn't crash. Rainy track days are slow and I'm nutted up most of the time. I'm sure part of it is psychological but I am just not interested in rainy track days. I don't have rains so I can't speak to that although I am sure it helps. I like traction and lots of it.
