We'll have to see. First real casual look over it though, surprisingly little of the major components were damaged except for the wheels (ouch). All the plastic bullshit may add up to not worth it. If not, there's lots of good bits to part out. Don't play if you can't pay and all that.

Thanks for being there. I was definitely dazed at first, took me a minute to shake it off. Don't even remember who I was talking to. By the time the EMTs were there I was lucid. Because I got in the aid unit so they could check vitals, I didn't really get a chance to see all of who was there. Ha, except for Tim, who came over to the ambulance as I was getting in and exclaimed, "Dude, your bike is FUCKED!". Thanks a lot Tim! Haha, I know him though, and it gave me a laugh when I needed it. Actually, you probably already did see me out there again. I took a few hours to get square, washed up and hydrated, and I was back out there late afternoon in the for the last sessions on the S1K at 60% or so. Glad I did that.

I pretty sure this is the same S1KRR I was pitted next to at the track, and I would firmly agree with this. He was plenty sympathetic. I had the same thought at the beginning of the day as him, I even talked about it with a riding buddy. I should have trusted my gut and dialed in back a notch in all the traffic and my get-off would have been avoided.
That would be me, like I said when you got back to your pit area I was happy and relieved to hear that you were not seriously injured, given how badly beat up your bike was.

Also, I've got a lot of video from the second session of you on the Aprilia as we were trading places moving through the slower traffic. If you want to see any footage, I can upload to Youtube or burn you a copy.

Since I was right behind you, I got to you before all the dust had settled. Thinking about it now, I was doing my EMT trauma exam on you before your marbles had a chance to re-align. Again, glad you're OK.

Anybody know what happened to the guy riding the Ninja 250 in the 100 group?
I came around to the straightaway and found him lying on his back in a cloud of dust. I saw his bike ridden away, but by someone else. I never knew what happened to him.

Pfffffffft.....................just the jealous ramblings of a frustrated hose monkey. I'll have you know that I was wearing my official EMT t-shirt under my leathers.

If he's the one that broke his collar bone after going off on the straight, I talked to him. Think it's the same guy. Said he got too close to the outside on the "race line" and went off without realizing how far out he was. I think he was supposed to be doing his first novice race on Saturday. Bummer.

I was in the aid unit and just finished getting my vitals checked and signed out when that happened. The EMTs suddenly said, "another red flag, rider needs help!". Me: "OK, I'm outta here!".

A short clip from the very first 100 level session of the day. It's not really a "good" clip, it certainly had me shaking my head in disgust. "6 foot bubble"? Not on this one....

I don't even know if I'd call that a good pass in the 300 level.....

I Ride: my race bike, poorly.
Well other than it being a bit close there was nothing wrong with it. Did you mention it to anyone on staff?

I think he would have passed on the inside in the 300 level. That's why it's important to ride a "tight" line in the 100 level. Try to stay off the outside edges of the track so faster riders can get around you.

No, I didn't, since I didn't get a good look at the rider. Probably should have anyway.

Well, if that rider is moving that much faster than the other 100 level riders, he's in the wrong group......

And I was riding pretty tight lines. I hugged the hell out of the Carousel just for that reason. Oddly, I rarely got passed there, only in places where I didn't feel comfortable passing on the outside due to traffic. And I know how rough the pavement is near the apex curbing, because I was that far inside on most turns. As this was the first 10 minutes of the first session of the day, many of the 100 riders hadn't ever seen the track before, and I was trying to find the right line myself.

And with as many red flags we had that day, I'd say everyone needed to take it down a few notches.....

How's the wrist? I'd think that would be the worst of the two things you broke. Keeps you from

Still got enough use of my left! Surgery for both next week then a quick recovery back to 100% from there.

Very well could be true, but as you mention later, this may be the reason

I agree with you about the red flags. I think that's why it's important to speak to Mark or a staff member as soon as possible with concerns. I've had problems resolved before my next session on the track.

Ive had this discussion w staff before and they have been extremely receptive and responsive. Typically any issue solved by the next session.
