How much did you spend on track days this year? - Page 3

My race budget is $5k/year. I bought the bike, leathers, etc. for the track, so only had enough left for 1 track day this year.

With that budget, I should be able to do at least 5 track day/race weekends next year. Bonus: Staying at a hotel doesn't count as 'track' budget, since I only do that for the wife. If I were going on my own, I would camp, so she doesn't count the hotel $$ against me.

Right around 3k if I had to guess, but that was also buying a track bike and getting it ready to go.

Next year will probably be around the same amount, but at least it'll all be spent on the track and tires/gas lol.

I spent 3880.00 on 12 trackdays last year. I rode mostly with OPRT, and only paid 140.00 per trackday. I did a few days with 2Fast, and a Jason Pridmore day too. This only counts fuel for the bike, truck and registration fees. I ran 6838 rear/6680 front Ntecs, purchased new, and they lasted the whole year on my 600. Next year I am going to go with 7704's, so I might need two sets. Also, I am a cheapish bastard, and had the bike tuned for 100LL/Pump premium, so I am only paying 6.00 a gallon for fuel. But, I am not going to count my crash, the replacement leathers resulting from the crash, or the 1200.00 that I just gave to KFG to go through the whole thing for next year.........

March 24, 2012 – 2Fast - 189
April 13, 2012 – 2 Fast - 189
April 30, 2012 – Duc Bellvue - $100
May 4, 2012 – OPRT – 140

3 at PIR, 1 at Thunderhill. About $700 just for the days.

Gas, trailer rental, food, time off from work and other junk bought... quite a bit more.

Plus I totaled my car on the way back from my last trackday and I'm underwater on the loan (even after insurance pays me off).

So yeah, a lot more than I planned.

tires: $50 (im guessing)

so about $700 for as much as i can squeeze in around work. Wow, thats more than i realized....SO WORTH IT! if i lived near mac track id be there every weekend.

Coming back from T-Hill was fine. Coming back from PIR I crashed in Portland traffic. Chevy Malibus don't stop well when they're towing a u-haul with two bikes :

Yep... 996 becomes a Starbucks bike; something a little more mainstream and current (read cheaper) for next season.

Going fast didn't hurt; going fast laying down wasn't so comfortable though.

If I had all that money in my hands now I could buy three track bikes and a couple parts bikes... I still had fun and will be back (not committing on when though...)
