| Chicken Strips Joined: Aug 2009 From: Renton, WA I Ride: S1000RR,SV650S,R75/5 | It was a really good day. It was my 1st time on The Ridge...and I give it 10 outta 10 points. Not a big turn out for the bikes, but the cars were out in full force. Pitted next to a Mini at a track day...that was cool. The morning fog and rising sun made it a bit hard to see when on certain parts of the track. It was moist from the night before for the 1st few sessions, but never even sprinkled. The cars DID in fact play a big part in drying the track out. By lunch, the areas that you really wanted dry pavement, were dry. Bikes were few on track so it felt like I had the whole thing to myself until of course when the Marshall's blasted by at warp. I was on street tires (they were on rains) so I musta looked like a moving traffic cone. Numerous "off's" for the car guys, one of which was the Mini that spun 180 going into T1 and drug mud/grass from the infield onto the apex of T1. The sweeper got it cleaned up but I never quite trusted it after that. Every time I went out for a new session I'd see fresh tire tracks through the grass from a car goin' off. As far as I know, the bikes didn't even have so much as an "oh-sh*t" moment. I think that might have surprised the car guys. Thanks to Donny for hangin' w/ me the 1st session and showin' me the line...very much appreciated. I'm up for the next one for sure, so thanks to all that made it happen. PEACE! |

Dude still no rain tires? I think you did more wet laps then I did in the last year! I bet you could find yourself a set of some racers shagged rains for less then $100 and still be 100x better off then your street tires!Super bummed I didint get my motor back in time to make this, I should have it back in time for the next one though, or at least I'm hoping! | |

Didn't I read somewhere the bike portion was almost full and in the end only 6 showed up. I have Ridge flashbacks just about everyday. Was the temperature about 45 all day? |

Until then...it just forces me to get used to dealing w/ a slippery bike. Greatly needed practice for me and so far so good. ![]() Over and over I have heard praise for the Ridge...and it really is a super fun, well designed track. I can not wait to do it on a dry, warm day to take full advantage. The entire track is a blast...you bet I was liking it. |

![]() ![]() | I was there driving our Chumpcar and the car group wasn't even full. I asked on T-day about just showing up with cash and they said sure! Pretty fun day, although it didn't dry up as quickly as I expected. I did manage to stay on the track this time, unlike the time I rode the S1000?! ![]() |

I think alot of us that signed up or have put our names on the list had good intentions for this W.W program. I know for me it was bad timming due to Thanksgiving and family obligations which I emailed Mark to let him know. Just wanted to say that I think this W.W program is great and hope we get more oportunities in the future! |

Not the best communication. Even so, I tried to come and had a trailer issue. Gave up at midnight Last edited by Bellevuef4i; 11-27-2012 at 04:50 PM.. |

Date of the event moved. Repeated communication that the event was full leading up to the date. Torrential rain the day before the event. No official notice it was still happening until the night before event. I understand the folks that provided the track day put their time and energy into pulling this off and I appreciate it. However, I think there needs to be a greater focus on direction, point of contact and timely consistent communication. I also think calling out those who didn't show and accusing them of being pussies / internet cowboys does nothing to insure another track day nor does it promote the vendors or participants in a positive light. | Newbie Joined: Nov 2011 From: The Ridge Motorsports Park, Shelton, WA | My bad, I'm the messenger, prolly need to be shot So, it was me that announced the "almost sold out" and it was from my old perspective, cars. We had so many cars sign up so fast, I presumed a total sellout. That was improper for me to do, and to all, I apologize. So, lets start over. First, the amount if bikes that do or do not show is actually not critical, unless we run a bike only day. Our goal is keep the track top of mind in the off season. The other details follow. We mean what we say on the weather, and while technically correct when Mark said we run "rain or shine" the add on line should have been "if it rains you will not be charged". Put differently, we want this to be fun, and take as much fiscal risk out of it for the participants as possible, as well as making sure the business side of the track is tended to as well. I do want all of you to know I understand your weather concerns. For those that have not heard, I raced motocross for years. Then desert racing, and finally, woods riding and enduros. I know what it means to freeze your ass off in January, and given the choice of riding or watching some relaxing TV, well, lets just say I have missed some rides. Comradeship and fun is what it is all about, nothing more, nor less. (I will be a bit more precise in our next Weather Warrior announcement) RP and the TRMG Team |

In my business a tell tail sign of a quality vendor is their willingness to take constructive feedback and use it to focus on improving their product. Your response did just that for me. I love the Ridge and would love to take advantage of the WW option if you decide to offer it up to bikes again. Thank you |
