Hey all,

Someone was asking whether the thread was scrubbed. It was not. Any deleted posts were deleted by their authors.

Mods came in and edited various user posts... JayT even used the term "scrubbing it down" in the thread asking where this thread was.

I wish jezterr would come back into this thread.

I dont know any of you guys personally YET so I have no idea WTF is going on but I have some questions about track days etc...

I am looking at getting to a track day (My first) at the end of June early July and am having a hard time deciding on the track day I want to attend. The day of week etc...dosnt really matter since I will be taking the day off work anyways.

So here is what I am looking for and hopefully you guys can answer these questions/concerns for me

1. I want to go there to learn. I havent been on a motorcycle in a few years and now that I'm a little older/wiser I am looking back and realising just how Squidly I was and just how LITTLE I actually learned in those years with a bike.

2. I would like to be around cool people that enjoy being out there and helping people learn etc...There's nothing worse than going to these sorts of things and never really feeling comfortable.

3. I need to be able to rent leathers. I know I know I should have them already and they are in my near future but I doubt I will have them before then.

I dont know if this will get any actual answers/comments due to drama going on but making a new thread would probably just end the same way so screw it I'll just ask it here.

What other trackday organizations are you referring to and what employees are you speaking of? How much experience do you have at the track anyways? I don't think I've ever seen you riding at a 2Fast day...

As for putting his "O out there", that's debateble too.
you are putting words into my mouth and making it sound like i want to single someone out and call them out. i don't. i've stated my broad opinion about a group in general, whether it be adrenaline freaks or any other track org, and yes, unfortunately it's based on my little bit and others' experiences, but knowing the sources, i take them as my own and hold their opinion highly enough to do so.

no, i've never even completed a full track day, but that's not to say i can't form my own opinion about something. again, ie, movies. people i know have been saying it sucks, so i will probably think it sucks, too.

nothing here has been "scrubbed" by any mod or admin and, as stated, anything that has been edited or deleted has been done so by the posts' owners. the thread was temporarily pulled by a mod because he felt it might incite attacks, as it has, on people stating their opinion. i and others feel that it was prematurely pulled, therefore, i put it back to continue the conversation.

now, why the fuck are you calling me out? i didn't even start this fucking conversation, and i put in my broad opinion, and you single me out, put words in my mouth and tell me i'm a fucking pussy when you're doing the exact same thing by 'hiding behind a computer?'

pull. head. out. of. ass.

Uhm, check your facts before you spout off. It indeed was "cleaned up", though now I'm not so sure that was a good idea, because my post berating one of the two offending moderators was deleted, yet it still applies to the other mod.

You're a moron. Posts in this thread were indeed deleted, not by their authors. Have JayT put my last post back in, as it applies to you as well.

okay, all i see that have been deleted, are posts by jayt and richardpalmer, and one edited post by jayt of kneedragger's, which was more than likely by user request. though, i do not know for sure, because they have been pm'ing each other.

check YOUR facts.

I'll try and help... I believe that NESBA rents leathers... yep, just checked their website. If you need them and can't find some to borrow from a friend then that narrows your choices right down to NESBA, as they rent leathers.

I borrowed leathers for my first track day. That worked great for me, but I know quite a few guys that race and have multiple sets just laying about.

Cool thanks
I wish I could just borrow a set but unfortunetly I dont have to many friends that ride and the ones that do have never been to a track day either :(

I have mostly been looking at 2 Fast and NESBA because they look to be a little more structured and learning oriented but I am open to ANY suggestions as I am just looking to get to know some people and get better/safer on my bike.

The 2 Fast lean machine looks pretty cool...I have no idea how cool it is in reality but it sure looks like it could be a useful teaching aid.

I usually try to stay away from any drama on the forum since my primary reason for being here is to participate in rides. With that being said though, in riding with Darren and seeing his progression from a decent rider to a pretty fast rider I can't sit here and not say anything. I have not been on the track yet but because of Darren and his experience through Adrenaline Freaks my first trackday this summer will be with AF. If I'm at the track I would be more comfortable approaching someone like Darren who is not a WMMRA racer for advice. I have seen Rev's progress through his AF trackdays so I would at least go through AF for my first trackday.

Like I said I'm not this forum for any drama. I want to ride with everyone so I don't let any drama affect what rides I participate in or who I ride with. It's the internet. Just don't bring personal feelings about someone else into the thread when if affects someone else's business.

It' pretty darned slick! I did the 2-Fast Performance School for my first track day, and it was well worth it. That's what all first-timers should do, in my opinion. NESBA doesn't have a classroom per se, but you can grab any of the control riders there and ask for help or advice at any time.

Currently NESBA is the only org that offers leather rental. That may change in the future, so make sure to check with whichever trackday org you decide to go with ahead of time and find out.

All of the trackday orgs do an excellent job of making new riders feel comfortable. I'm the biggest track whore in the area and have given my $ to each and every org in the PacNW.

Can't wait to see you out there. Make sure you post up when you do decide on a date. Quite a few of us are instructors at the various orgs. If you make it out to an Adrenaline Freaks or NESBA day, feel free to come by and say hi. I'm black/red bike, #20. Always pitted right near registration.

Good luck out there. Hope you have a lot of disposable income because its worse than crack.

Yeah I have been leaning twords 2 Fast only for the reason that they have ALOT of classroom things as well as the control riders.

I just think that it would be helpful to have the classroom/track mix to help really understand stuff.

Maybe I'll just have to suck it up and figure out a way to borrow or buy a set of leathers before then.

That's very good feeback, and I'm sure the different trackday orgs will take note.

Hi nj2wa - Can you tell me why this is? Is there a particular reason or experience that you have had that has made you feel this way?

Thx.

Right on thanks.

Yeah I bought my A* jacket with the intention of getting the track pants that zip in but I was so stoked that I found a jacket that fit awsome that I missed noticing that it didnt have the damn zipper :(

It's not really the price that is bothering me I'm going to buy one at some point anyways its just that I'm in the middle of trying to lose almost 20% of my body weight and I dont want to buy something like leathers until I'm done so that I dont end up with leathers that dont fit.

I don't post here, but have some experience with 2-Fast and NESBA. I've ridden at least 2 days a season with 2-Fast since they've been in operation and they are a well organized professional group. They offer very good beginner instruction and will make a first-timer comfortable on the track.

This year is my first riding with NESBA and they also offer a lot of value for your $$$$$$$$$. The control riders keep people spread out fairly well and offer plenty of tips and suggestions. You can't go wrong with either of these two, but 2-Fast doesn't rent leathers. You might as well buy a set now..........One trip to the track and you'll be addicted.

How big are you?

Regarding your Astars jacket, you can have a tailor sew in a zipper for you.

As for zipping jacket and pants together, not all organizations require it. If you are considering 2Fast, they do not require you zipping your jacket/pants together.

Seattlesucks and I are going to be at the July 11th 2-fast day for the performance school. I believe we are planning on pooling resources. SS? I'm sure you would be welcome to join us track day newbs.

then what's your beef and with who? i'm certainly not apologizing for stating my opinion that you read way too much into, especially when it was a broad opinion in the first place, and specified no one. i'm certainly not apologizing for any name calling, and i've already taken back what i've stated as mistakes.

so what apology do you feel you deserve?

i deserve a million bucks, but i sure as hell don't expect to get it.

Regarding your Astars jacket, you can have a tailor sew in a zipper for you.

As for zipping jacket and pants together, not all organizations require it. If you are considering 2Fast, they do not require you zipping your jacket/pants together.
I'm 5'9" about 195.

Yeah I may look into getting a zipper sewn into the jacket.

I saw that they don't require them to zip together but if I am going to go out and buy the gear I'd rather that they did.
I have found that buying something "just to get buy with" usually just ends up costing you more in the long run anyways.

Thanks to everyone that has responded I appreciate all the help.

I feel like that kid that just moved into the neighborhood..."Will you be my friend?" LOL

I still don't see an apology.
maybe it's because you don't deserve one with your childish name calling and improper use of the english language.

"we're in america. you need to speak american, dammit."

Well I do have a little bit of Irish in me.... I'm surprised this thread went this far before someone had to use the old grammar/spelling cop-out. Here's a hint: when you do so, make sure your own is correct.

You remind me of a certain tree.....

Ladies, Ladies, Ladies. Lets all just all just calm down. Do I need to bring in some chocolate? What the hell is everybody's problem? I put out a thread asking about Track Days and it turns into a bitchy little cat fight.

Here's my advice, if you have something to contribute make sure you have the balls to back it up or else it isn't worth.

If I could just edit out all of the bullshit, this is actually a pretty good thread. I really appreciate all of you for piping in and contributing in a positive manner. You guys rock and I can't wait to see you at the track..

On that note lets all and then and move on.
