Thank you to all who helped me out today and made my first track day a good experience.

Good times. I rode alot this weekend. stuck around Sunday to work out some issues with gearing/setup. I'm ready for May race weekend. :D

I was doing tech inspection Sunday morning when low and behold, along comes a familiar face.... Some of you know him as Slow Eric.

Of course, I go over his bike with a fine tooth comb looking for any nitpick item I can fail him for.... Turns out, I didn't have to nitpick!

Let this be a lesson Eric - Brakes are kinda important!

Anyway, I had a great weekend! Put in a ton of laps, and felt super comfortable out there.

It was good seeing a lot of you out there. I cruised around w/ Scott and Tony in B briefly before they got bumped - both of you were looking great, and it sounds like you improved a ton since that session too.

Glad the rider did better than the bike. It does put things in perspective as I started the recovery work on my RC today and its not too bad. Some fiberglass repair and rattle can touch up and a few other bits and I am good to go. But that SV looks like a goner.

Did my very 1st 2 day event and loved it! I was actually less tired the 2nd day (in part due to reduced heat).
Got there at leisurely 8:30am just in time for rider meeting too

I eased up toward the end of the day. My left side is still screwed up though ~ only time and experience will help me there. Following Adrock through 5,6 & 7 the first session pretty much set me up for the rest of the day to have fun. I liked flip-flopping sides between 6 & 7. The more comfortable I became and got off the bike, the more exciting those corners were for me... until my very last lap, I cut it too close in 7 and my rear bumped the red/wht curb thingy and scared me.

I went too wide out of 2 once and could feel the rear start to slide from under me ~ too much of the death grip didn't allow me to ease out of the corner. That eye opener made me relax pretty quick. Also, listening to Faron to relax and get some confidence, made that corner better for me as the day went on.

All in all I had fun ~ no matter how slow I was, how many times I got lapped, or how many passed me on the inside and outside of corners.

faron ... that man is wicked fast ...

The thing that left me in awe in my 2nd session was watching Faron leave my ass in the dust through your area... I blinked and he was gone!

The left can has some scratches but is OK. So no new parts needed. That can already had scratches in the same place from a low speed lowside at Spokane a couple of years ago. The worst is that the left swingarm spool snapped off and took the metal mounting hole with it

Not particularly, but they're pretty convenient for trying out new lines/explaining things to peeps.

i.e. I want to trying coming to 2 a little hotter and a little wider entrace, most of my $10 of attention is feeling the bike and the feedback from the tires, kind of nice to have something standing out as a fixed reference point without having to search.

Not really a big deal though.

Apex cones? How about if we just paint a yellow line all the way around the track so you know where to go... Actually, my niece has some side walk chalk that we could mark the race line with! She and I will go out before the track opens and draw a unicorn at each apex. And we'll name the one at T5 tokin and draw him upside down.
