Starvation Ridge 24 Hour Halloween Weekend
Anyone else running it? My bro and I are entered in the Iornman class. We're renting a big-ass RV, so come say hello if you're down there.

We're riding my Beta and ATK, and will be hard to miss.

Good luck Hawker and bro. Looks like the weather might be pretty good this year.

The conditions were absolutely perfect. Tacky dirt, overcast, almost no dust until nighttime. Grass track was almost like roadracing, and there was lots of it. Course came in right at 25 miles. Unfortunately, there were several injuries and one fatality this year. Keven Parks, one of the AA riders, died after a nasty, nasty high speed get off.

Personally, I put in about 10 hours of continuous riding, covered around 200 miles and was sitting somewhere around 6th or 7th when I decided to park it. Iornman for me was weird mix of frustration and boredom that just wasn't any fun anymore. You have to pick a pace that you can ride mostly indefinitely, sit down, and suffer. Can't go fast enough to really have fun because of concerns I'd wear myself out, and taking longish brakes was mostly de-motivating. I think I ended up in the top 10, but won't know for sure until results are posted. Glad I tried it, don't ever need to do it again. I did figure out the nutrition issues I was having at the last 24 hour race, which was great.

Nice job, Hawker, I don't think I could sit on my bike in the garage for 10 hours, let alone actually ride it off road?!?
