I rode reiter last friday for the first time with some IceHoles... These guys knew the trails between the trails. So cool. Some of the toughest off road riding I have ever expereinced. Awesome, technical, super challenging. Love it. Whats the story with closures? |

And when they reopen it, from what I've heard, we will be getting back 1,000 acres of the 10,000 acres we used to have. The secret squirrle trails are my favorite trails to ride too. If they are included in the portion that gets reopened, they'll probably have to be mapped. So every Tom Dick and Harry will ride tham and they'll get blown out to double track in short order. I could be wrong though, it's happened before. I believe there is some sort of meeting in Monroe next week with the DNR regarding Reiter. Shocker should be able to post up the details. |

Tahuya hasn't had their ST widened from what I've seen, they have it well mapped and marked as such along with enforcement. We have to get past the past with Reiter, it was not a legit and mapped or marked trail system. What was done up there is freaking apalling but we are trying to make something of it rather than just "hope" that nobody finds our trails and "hope" that we don't get in a bunch of trouble for riding hidden unofficially marked trails when it's reopened. We also risk making everyone in the ORV community look bad in the eyes of non-motorized users (just as the 4X4 crowd has cast a black shadow over all of us) by riding on trails that dont get mapped and made an official part of the ORV area. We need cooperation like I saw from the Tahuya group in order to have all users take responsibility to help protect everyones areas not just looking out for your own trails.
