supermoto track is definitely happening at PR. it was scheduled for july with a tentative ama event as well. problem is that they are exporting gravel from where the track will sit to the new runway at seatac which is behind schedule. once that is complete my guess is they will start on the track. i'm guessing it will be done in time for next summer.

bike is mainly stock. it comes with brembo brakes, marzochi shocks, full ti system, etc.... so it's pretty much set up from the get go. there are a few aftermarket pieces though.

baja designs tail light.
led turn signals
supermoto engineering axel sliders
peg sliders
pro-taper bars
cyra pro-bend hand guards

oh yeah... the light comes off and it comes with a front plate.

mmm... it rides like a paint mixer at 70-80mph. i don't mind it cause i usually don't go very far when i take it out. i think if i were to do it over i would get something bigger like your 625 or the 610.

So it doesn't do well on the freeway then?

Is there a motard that does?

Nope not really. Long freeway riding is not part of the supermoto mission statement.

Oh lame!!!
What do you consider 'long' though?

Eventually I wanna have my SV as a track bike, daily ride a motard + then have a duc 749 or 999 as my 'hey its sunny I'll go for a nice ride' type bike. Then my car for the drifting funstuffs

I dunno, what do you consider "long"?

If you're talking a half hour commute on the freeway, no problem. If you wanna ride I-5 to Portland, forget about it. The longest freeway ride I've done on mine was to Vantage and back with a bunch of sportbikes. Not something I want to do again anytime soon.

Cruising speed matters too. 65-70 mph is pretty decent. But 75-80+ the motor is spinning pretty good and the vibes go up a bunch, it just starts feeling "busy" and you'll tire out quicker.

On the flip side, I've gone riding all day when it's all backroads etc with occaisional stops along the way. Standing helps too. If you've ridden dirt at all, it feels totally natural and is a great way to stretch out for awhile.

the bike does fine... the rider is the problem. mainly your ass get's sore and if you are riding at a constant speed for very long the vibrations start to ride up your legs into your joints. the bike is fine though.

best true motard for the street is probably the ktm625 or husky610. but like pete said in his post.... doesn't really matter if you are doing twisty roads. as long as you are moving around you've got no problems.

i'd trade my 750 for a 625 any day of the week.

wonder how those aftermarket parts in your leg are going to handle the vibration. i would think that for the first year or so it's going to be painful.

The 620 duke is also not tooo bad on long distances but its no street bike.

Goes along with the bigger the bike the more comfy it is. Lighter - more flickable, less comfurt for long haul

Anyone want to buy a DUKE I ? Although I like the lightness I don't live in a large town and most of my driving is long distance. I dont't want to rack up the miles on this great condition SM. PM KneeDragGirl for a personal statement of how sweet it is. Hell she said she wanted to buy it but... she has a Superduke and I don't think that'll happen.

I dunno, I never thought about that? I kinda assumed I wouldn't even know it's there, except maybe some soreness after a hard ride? I sure hope it doesn't set up some kind of vibration harmonic in my leg!

Just new tail light to get rid of the ugly fender, why mod something you are gonna thrash anyway? Plus a full pipe for a berg costs upwards of 1K

I need Hand guards and sliders.

New to me (400 miles)

A Ulysses that still has the little nubs on the side of the tires (not the sidewall but like it was only drivin straight for 1900 miles) they traded it in for a 640 KTM Adventure sell.

YIKES!!!

Nice tape job on the headlight. Did you know it's one simple plug to undo the headlight?

I think you should get a "Suspension by Aaron Yates" sticker for your bike.

I really want to try a Ulysses. I want something sportier but have a hard time fitting on sport bike with 36+" inseams. I've sat on Uly's and actually have leg room.
