Here's the '09 photo. Got rid of the dual exaust, it looked cool and sounded great but was a real pain to work with (notice how it runs up through the swing arm). Also redid the front end. Flipped the wheel around so the rotor was on the left. (where it should be) and swapped out the gremeca for a motomaster (delivers stoppies with yer pinky). Did some other cosmetics to accomomodate the new bits.

and yes, I did get a new front tire and had it put on the proper direction. It was backwards because I flipped the wheel around....

and where can i get one of those bitchin' tank pads?

that's a badass xr.

I'd love to take it for a spin... see how it feels compared to the 625. I smell a swap ride this summer!

I want the front end off that bike, the ohlins and brembos with it and the motomaster. kthnx. I'll let him wrestle at PUDDINGFITE09 for free.

I do believe that you would regret that trade as soon as you saw me in a speedo. Although you may like my "Live to Ride" tramp stamp.....

Tramp stamp = lower back tatoo usually shown off with low rider jeans...... commonly found on naughty girls.

no, that was supposed to be a joke ( I crack myself up sometimes). A dude with a tramp stamp would be kinda disturbing. now add that in with a speedo...... eeeks. It was my feeble attempt to persuade you away from any future trade attempts. However I am flattered that you would be willing to subject the rest of the community to that vision for a few meager upgrades......

Take off the carb and throw it away. Call up the TT store adn have them send you an FCR39 from their store. It is a kit that has EVERYTHING.
Big block it.
Hotcams. Ron Hamp valves and springs. (Do NOT use any other valves...) Send it to Eddie Sisneros and have him stroke it while he ports the head.
Lose the exhaust you have and order an SSW/MRD. Don't forget the quiet core.
Order up soem BIG brakes...Lots of options there.
Trail Tech Vapour and you get an accurate speedo along with a tach and temp gage.

Or just 3X3 it and a jet kit...
Your choice.

That's the single best mod you can do.
Call them though, they are always on backorder. You have to get on the waiting list

You'll have a good time on the tard for sure. Doing 2-Fast in August or something else? I'm gonna have to drag the husky with me for sure.

fawk, I wish I got a picture of my little ride tonight. I shit you not, I splattered a dragon fly the size of a small bird on my front headlight clip. After I flicked it off, I have a packet size splatter of what looks to be mustard up there....only it's really bug guts

Tires, stay away from the Distinzas they wash out at 42-53 on dirt.
Get a decent set of Scorps if you are planning on hitting the dirty hard pack, a set of MT 60s in the winter for mud, and the really chunky stuff, the TKC 80s

Welcome to the fun, stay away from the loading docks and the stairs.... they are starting to catch on

Distenzias work VERY well on a DRZ. It's not 500 lbs.

argh....I actually LOVE the Distanzias up here on the roads in Leavenworth. And I have Scorps on my 650 sumo and dont trust them *anywhere near as well as the Distanzias. Tires are always imho.

Woot woot. Joining the club. Finally.

Bought a set of SM wheels off my buddy in Vegas who didn't need his anymore. Behr rims, Rad hubs, 320mm disc w/ relocator, spacers, practically new distanzias mounted, yadda yadda yadda etc etc etc.

Good timing, too, 'cause I got a flat last weekend riding around on the Deathwings. So now I can get some knobbier rubber back on the dirt wheels AND have the motard setup ready to rock for the pavement.

Haaaaail yes. Only issue is the sprocket on the SM wheel is the same as the dirt wheels (stock 44), so I imagine it's gonna be geared a bit on the short side w/ the 17s on there. Guess I'll find out early next week...

Shit I just found out where the Sumo guys are hiding. I got this bike on ebay last winter for a killer deal. It is an '06 crf450, with an ice cube big bore kit so it is now a 480. WRP wheels, forks revalved for sumo, crash bungs, all the usual. I just put a big 4 piston caliper on it a few weeks ago.
