Wanting to ride up to Vancouver in April or May...
I love that city! Last time I was there I spent a lot of time at Stanley Park, the most beautiful park on the planet! What I really liked was how the city is right across the water! I came up in mid summer so the park was packed. That was when the zoo was open (is zoo still there?).

So anyway, I'm wondering how the local Vancouver Police/RMCP treat Washington State riders on bikes. Not that I'm going to violate any traffic laws or anything (on purpose). And I'm 100% legal and insured. I just know that quite often cops don't take a liking to "out of towners" in their parts.

Also, would anyone be able to meet up somewhere if I called you when I'm there, to maybe show me the sites via motorcycle? Around town or out in the country. If so, feel free to PM me with a phone number.

I also wonder if any hotels/motels up in Vancouver that anyone knows of that gives discounts to AARP or AMA members.

Hope to run into a few other riders (not literally) while I'm up there!

There are not many (actually none I've seen last 2 years) US riders coming here, even with today's exchange rate.

If you do, make sure you have a 3rd party liability insurance of minimum C$250k. I tell you this, because I was shocked to know that 3rd party liability or any kind of insurance isn't required in WA. Police often stop bikes for license checks.

I rode up from Portland last April. Fun place to ride in. It helps if you have a GPS. Mine has parks, touristy sites, etc. If you don't have one, I'd recommend picking one up before your trip.
