| MotoGP Champion | New home, cat troubles I am so shocked at the numbers of bold cats in my new neighborhood. Our front yard smells of cat urine, everytime we open a door they come in, found one on our kitchen table and counter three different times now! Driving away from our home, up to 30 are normally visible on cars within a couple of blocks, porches and crossing the street. We don't have pets because we don't want any. We especially would rather not deal with someone else's pet/s. Being new to Vancouver and unsure of the pet rules and laws. Are there laws which could help us. How can we legally deal with them. I don't really want to, but something has got to change......... IDEAS????? Be nice now!!!!!! Last edited by Gusgus; 10-13-2009 at 10:00 AM.. |

have a heart trap and if you have no heart a 5 gallon bucket of water as well...helps eliminate the issue silently where neighbors will not know ![]()

| MotoGP Champion | I am in the process of building a 5 gallon bucket live trap. I don't want to dispatch them, but I do need to rid our place of this intrusion. They were mating all night. I wasn't,,,, so it pissed me off, maybe a bit jealous. If this keeps up I may never again be able to, she is not pleased. |

Doesn't harm the cat, but detours them from your yard over time. FYI, don't use mothballs. Those can harm the cat and it would suck to add to the urine, the smell of a dead cat. |

Call Animal Control. You can do a little recon around the neighborhood to see who is the cat lady, but she ain't gonna change. Call Animal Control. They will fix the problem. |

| MotoGP Champion | ![]() Amazing as it sounds I am wide eyed The same cats on the same cars, everyday. I know where the animal control office is, so maybe this is the best direction. Crazy to see the disregard of others with pets. I guess I have a new hobby, completely unintentional yet demanded. |

My one cat, Pimp C, went missing and I'm sure it's because of some A-hole neighbor like a few of you seem to be. Sounds like whoever lived there before you would let them come in. It's as easy as getting a spray bottle, filling it with water, and spraying the cats if they try to enter your house or come on your lawn. Give that a week, theyll get the picture, and you'll be free of cats. |

it would make me thing twice about letting my animals run free. ![]() a man has a right to protect his property from vermin. and guess what? "pets" are vermin. now, before you go go all touchy feely on me, I'm a cat/dog lover, raised on a farm, been around animals all my life. ya, cats are great, vermin are not. you know the difference? cats don't smell up the entire lawn and run into my house, vermin do.

My dad bought a c02 powered bb-gun, sat on our back deck and double-tapped the strays every evening. They learned. It didn't kill them (probably didn't even break the skin) but cats are smart...they figured it out real quick! |

How can you blame anyone for killing your cat if you don't KEEP it safe and at home? To say the BullShit you just did is asinine and just plain selfish. All I have to do is shoot them, anti-freeze them or catch them and deliver them to whomever I so choose. It is my choice since you made the choice to allow them to run loose. You exposed them to the danger, you are the guilty party here! Unfuckingbelivable! I simply choose to deliver them to the shelter, unless they return, then the cat god can have them.
