Our European tech has decided to retire finally and we now have a position open for a highly qualified Asian/European technician.

I work at a shop located in Orchards Vancouver. The shop has existed since 1989 and is under its 3rd owner. The Former (2nd) owner is still here and decided to step down and become our lead tech in 2000.

My Boss is looking for a highly qualified Asian/Eurpoean tech. Must have ASE Master tech and L1 (DOE) certs. Ability to also work on domestics is also preferred.

Typical shop BS including a boss who can go from calm to raging pissed in 0.5 seconds, a lead tech who likes to start drama and watch the hilarity of people getting spun up over nothing ensue, and general machismo guy humor.

Probably not the most ideal place to work, but the shop is honest (one of the most stand-up operations in Vancouver) and the Boss is fair and upfront. We have a stellar rating with the BBB and have most up-to-date service equipment.

Medical/Dental benefits available and vacation pay. Shop is flat rate pay, current numbers range from 140 to 220 labor hours every 2 weeks (split between 3 techs) Our goal is to have each tech producing 100 hours a pay period and we’re hoping things pick up with the economy this year.

I commend you for thinking about others and posting up a job opportunity. Hopefully someone on the forum who is looking for a job, is qualified can use this as a point to get back on track.

New guy starts Monday, he's been out of work for 8 months and walked out on his last job cause he hated his boss... Lets see how long this guy lasts
