I am working on a video, so stay tuned. I'm still enjoying summer in Red China. Yeah, armed militia are everywhere, oppressing my daily life and forcing me to kowtow to the Masters at large... Meanwhile, in between being interrogated for crimes against the State and for spreading anti-communist propaganda, I enjoy strolling through the ancient Beijing hutongs and down random avenues with a beer in my hand and a communist girl at my side. Yeah, I know... walking down a public street with an open container... such a danger to society! How the hell can that be legal? I miss the States. Today I want to share some pictures from a beer festival in TangGu ![]() I snapped this picture and it reminds me of Close Encounters of the Third Kind. ![]() This is "Miss Harbin," of Harbin beer... of Harbin, China... and yours truly. ![]() ![]() Ohh, stop the camera! ![]() Apparently, Harbin Beer is the official beer of the NBA. ![]() More later from the East! |

Welcome to the bourgeoisie my friend. $36.5k per year US puts you in the top 1% of Chinese earners. You could fake funemployment in the US and live like a king in China. No matter the economic system employed by a country, bourgeoisie is the way to go! Enjoy the superior rights and priviledges afforded to the wealthy, avoid the starving farmers and sweat shops though. The proletariat masses may covet your wealth and priviledge. Great idea! http://www.mckinseyquarterly.com/Und...s_wealthy_2392 |

You can't spell (it's Bourgeois, dude) and you don't realize that this is the Vancouver section (not Hot topics). You seem to have missed the point. The hover-hand comment got me laughing, by the way. ![]()

| Shredder | Oh Galen! Is this what communist beer has done to you? ![]() You man hussy! Drinking with "Drinky Girls"! For Shame! ![]() What would Ying Ying say if she ever found out? Simply scandalous young man! ![]() On a side note, we found out why the Chinese invaded Tibet. They were after that fresh Himalayan mountain water in order to brew a beer that would be able to compete with Coors. ![]() |

You are a small person, and you are weak. I am not flaunting myself. In fact, I have family here, common folk. Working farms and rice paddies in AnHui, and painting houses in Qingdao. I am here for the summer, and I will return for Spring Festival in January to see my girlfriend in Beijing, and my brother and his wife and daughter in Anhui, after a five month stay in the States. You think I'm a money tourist, Are_Six. I'm not. You speak of superior rights and privileges, yet you really have no clue. You have no clue. Why would you even say such things? Right. You're an idiot.

Things have certainly changed around the large cites in China....cars and clean(er) air I worked there in the mid 80's at the An Tai Bao surface coal mine ( Ping Shou, Shanxi Province ). The first joint venture between US and China. Who are you working for? That's still one place I would go back to. |

![]() Actually I'm just opinionated and I don't mind hurting peoples feelings on the interweb. I'd say the same thing to you in person. I love seeing people in Che shirts, which I'd bet you have. I tell them; "I love the shirt, dead commies make me smile." But you missed the point completely. Yes I do think you were flaunting yourself, the little red star on your hat is awesome. What's it mean? I had family in Russia, most of them were killed. My Grandma saved her mom and sister, and they were the only people in her immediate family to survive communism. That's why I choose to post in your communist propoganda thread. ![]() ![]()
I'll save you some time, beatification is spelled correctly, as was bourgeoisie, that's how you spell it when you use it as a noun. Aren't you supposed to be some type of english major? You think you are so worldly yet you espouse one of the greatest sources of human evil and misery left on the planet. I hope to travel to China one day, and I think it's great actually that you can bring a little free market capitalism there way. But you kid yourself if you think that the people in China are free. It is nothing more than a human concentration camp designed to enrich the people controlling the government. ![]() But have fun, maybe take some time to find the mass graves dug for the 45 million people killed during the great leap forward it was only 50 years ago. I doubt they are marked though, probably history they don't want their people to know. The Nazi's were great too, so was Stalin, top notch guys all of them. I'd put any of them up with the Pope and Dalai Lama, but definetely a notch or two below Mao.

I'm catholic, well I was raised in the catholic church. So yes it is spelled as I intended it to be, even though it's meaning is a bit obscure. |
