Thanks for all the well wishes and shit talkin. Some of you assholes are hilarious. Not cool with broken ribs. At all. Although I sneezed once yesterday and thought I saw satan. My elbow was dislocated, not broken so that's good I guess. All popped back into place now. Leg is just a very deep bone bruise with a few splinters. Like when you pound a piece of wood with a hammer is how the ortho doc decribed it to me. Anyway, healing up good.

I have no idea how this happened. None at all. Smooth and stable one second, on my face sliding toward the trees in the blink of an eye. BBQ sauce is as good a reason as any.

Talked to the insurance guy today, bike is totaled so I won't have to worry about that.

I'll see everyone one of these days.

This is worrisome. How do we learn anything from a crash if you don't know what caused it? Ugh ...

The lesson learned here is......make sure to turn on go-pro before flight. Then you shall seek the answer you are looking for.

Glad to hear you are doing well Jeff and leg is not broken. Heal up fast and hope to see you sooner than later.

Maybe everyone on the forum should ride the posted speeds in corners?

Nah I didn't really say that did I?

Oh and Jeff when you get up and moving again your more than welcome to borrow our back up bike for a ride or two if your feeling up to it.

I seriously wish I knew. I know I screwed up somehow, I just don't know how and that's seriously bothering me right now. I've replayed it in my mind 1000x's over the last week and I just don't know. Ass off, head to the inside, neutral throttle, didn't touch the front brake. Everything was great until it wasn't.

Thanks, but I haz no gearz that's intact. I'll be replacing my stuff over the winter, but if I reinforced one lesson it's that if you wear good gear you're more likely to survive when shit happens.

Damn Jeff! I sell my bike, don't check in for a month and this? The few times we rode together I really enjoyed it, you are smooth and ride at a pace I enjoy. I hate to say it, but I'm glad I wasn't following you on this one!

So sorry for your get-off and hope you are doing ok. Take care of yourself, maybe when you heal we can meet up on the golf course, trees are less dangerous there!

Travis.

at VBN some of the guys were saying that... as they sat there watching people go through the corner that day, it looked like there were two small ripples right together, about 10ft before the footpeg gouge...

maybe it was just enough to overwhelm the front...

Hey Jeff, I just saw this. I'm glad you survived your crash and your gear did it's job. I've got a spare A* leather jacket and some gauntlet style leather gloves if you need them. I hope you are on the mend.
