shumate locks doors today

Saw the posts on the Tricities post, and see today that Shumate is locking the doors on their new Yamaha/Aprilia/Suzuki shop today....

doh!

Guess everyone will have to go to Pendleton to Oregon Power Sports for good service now!

For Suzy's and Yammie's there's always Desert Powersports in Prosser. For Ape's...well, I dunno. I know the guys at Moto Intl. are pretty awesome...but Seattle's a bit far.

They were still open this afternoon. I don't know if they were selling bikes, but they sold me some chain lube.

I think Brian was just saying walla2 was part of the closing.

I was told on Saturday that the Walla Walla store will be open on Tuesday (8/25) so if anyone wants to stock up on the parts and supplies they do have in stock, that would probably be a good day to do it.

They did, brought a few over from TC then loaded them back up.

So i just heard that they decided to keep walla2 open and are planning to bring a tech from tri back down soon. The word is that the whole walla2 harley thing is what was a big cuase of the problem. After buying the space in Walla; Harley backed out of the deal leaving a tone of over head and money not easily recovered as well the economy going to crap at the same time creating "the perfect storm". Dont quote me on that but this is what i am told. I think we have a great dealer in walla with USA honda to service our needs but when it comes to warranty work like i am going through now (owning and Yamaha) it's nice not to have to take it a million miles away for service. As well the tech Steve that they have coming that was there for awhile is really a great tech! To me, my hopes are that all businesses make it through these hard times and sometimes they do what they have to so that they can. At the same time I do believe that customer service is at the top of the list to keep your client base. So i guess we wait and see what happens and how critisism, if constucted in a way that is benificial, changes the over all relationship we have with our local dealers. Just my thoughts and info. They may not be yours and that's ok, we are intitled to our opinions but just wanted to say good luck and hope we see you (Shumate) as well any others stuggling make it through.
