Both of us are new to it which makes us nothing less than dangerous during a group ride. I found this link to be helpful seeing the Walla Walla Riders group is growing. | Pit Crew Joined: Apr 2007 From: Walla Walla, WA I Ride: 2005 Triumph Speed Triple | I've led quite a few of group rides, if you guys feel like you need some more experience, Id be happy to lead another. Just remember, its all about spacing and communication. Stay the proper spacing (far enough to be out of one another's way, yet close. If traffic can treat you as one vehicle instead of separate bikes, its much safer). And always try to communicate everything you are doing ahead of time (study up on the hand signals, you need more than just turn signal lights). ...and the last thing? Dont ride like a dick when you're in a group. If you don't know the people and how aggressive they want to ride, air on the side of safety. Its very tempting for new riders to ride outside their limits just trying to keep up. |

| Track School Dazed ![]() Joined: Oct 2005 From: CENTRAL I Ride: When I can | I like to trade cell numbers. I like the morning of the ride, to hand out route sheets, or explain the route, including fuel stops. That way Nubee's arnt forced to ride over their comfort zone, to keep up. I really like to make sure everyone's paired up, incase the group divides into a fast and slow group. I agree, leave NO ONE behind. Talk over hand signals, and what happens if a Cop wants to talk. Standing Rule, NO stunting while riding in the group. If the group stops for a break, and you just have to bust a move, thats differant. |
