I was getting 45 mpg. Every one told me I should get 50+mpg. Now at 533 miles I filled up and it shot up to 65mpg. It is broke in now. I had a new 250 rebel I bought in May, it got 50mpg, and then after 4 fill ups it shot up to 85mpg. It was broke in. In another forum for 650 riders they did not experience the same thing, so they think I am full of shit. I can't explain it. I know what I am doing, as far as the math. last fill up I went 116 miles on 1.8 gallons. Has anyone else experienced these things? Why might I be so damn lucky? |

Maybe they've all got pipes and jet kits (those are carbed, I'm assuming) and you don't? I know that other places in the country also switch from winter gas to summer gas (I think we also do up here) and that will effect mpg, I noticed a 2-3mpg (10-15%) difference in my truck. Maybe they (and their wives) are all fatties, and you're built like a toothpick? |
