So on that note, list the intersections that you know are a risk and a accident waiting to happen. |

| (Washington) City ![]() Joined: Mar 2008 From: Wenatchee, Washington I Ride: Suzuki 650 'strom | Cody - couple of things you should know: 1. The cops here have been asking for dedicated left turn lights at several intersections in town for at least a decade. We're consistently told that there aren't enough collisions at the intersections to justify the expense... Like 9th and Miller. That's a bad one and I've been to several real nasty collisions there. 2. That entire west side of the Senator George Sellar bridge approach is about to be rebuilt. It's been completely re-designed and the rebuild process will be starting fairly soon. Widening the bridge itself by adding a lane was part of the whole project. Fixing the bridge exits and approaches on the East Wenatchee/Douglas County side is another portion of the project. The final portion is going to be fixing the Wenatchee/Chelan County side of the bridge approaches and exits. The proposed improvements look pretty good and should alleviate much of the congestion and danger we endure currently. Work on the design changes started years ago and funding was finally approved. It's been a Very Expensive project so far - mostly state and federal funds I believe since it's a state highway. That's info you should know going in. The dangers of the current south end bridge approaches are well known, and a fix has been approved and is already scheduled. I believe work is supposed to start on the Wenatchee end of the project in a few months. Regards, Guy |

I have to take that intersection anytime Im leaving my house really. Had many, many, many close calls there and seen quit a few more I wasnt even involved with. We have it better than some cities tho. My sisters neighborhood in Spokane, no stop signs at any of the four way intersections in the neighborhood. Kinda scary, everyone just does REALLY quick REALLY fast California stops. |
