Thursday Nights at Dusty's 2009
What do you think? Is it warm enough to start up the Dusty's thing again? If the weather poo poo we could skip the ride and just meet up. A lot of people skipped the ride last year anyway.

Last year we met at 6:30 until October 2nd when we switched to 6:00 because of the short days. Right now we are getting days of about the same length as late September so 6:30 should work. Some people might like 6 better but others have a hard time getting home from work, suited up and on the bike to make it that early. What say ye?

I'm getting hungry for a Dusty burger just talking about it.

No rain!!!

Of course we don't mind. I'm thinking about bringing my dual-sport. On a shorter ride you can't beat 'em.

What I'd like to see is some two-smokes show up. (Are you listening Jeremy?)

There is a guy in Waterville that had two Bultaco Astro flat-trackers last time I talked to him. I wish he'd bring one down on a trailer. That would be the star of the show for me. Those things are gorgeous. I think he keeps one hanging above his mantel or something.

It was nice to meet everyone! I know I'll struggle to remember names, so I apologize in advance and I hated to duck out early. Maybe I can make it inside next time. Paul

What a quiet week on the forum. You'd think it was December.
I'll be at Dusty's tomorrow night.
Maybe we can talk about a little ride for Saturday.

Of course this was an April Fool's joke right?

It has been pretty quiet Breezer- I think everyone's finally out riding instead of typing (or working ).

I received some lovely new snow at my house last night, so if I can push/pull/drag my scoot to the road, I'm hoping to be there. I may have to work late, but I'll try to get there as soon as I can! Hopefully the roads will be good and we'll have a good turnout.

If it all goes right, see ya 'round 6:30!

I play hockey every single Thursday night at 7 so I dont think I will make a single Dustys bike night. Its a shame, maybe I will skip a week. I dont even have a car anymore so im sure I will have to miss one of these weeks, I dont think the cbr can carry my hockey bag.

^^ I agree... I think some of the Thurs bike crowd said they were available on Sat (Breezer for short time only), and maybe for a Sun afternoon ride?

Another rider buddy of mine was thinking of just toolin' up around the Chumstick. He's working Sat, but maybe Sunday?

Also, Lizi has the BBQ going on Sat... could be part of a ride?

Is the weather going to cooperate with us today?

Pretty weak turnout last week, although I still had a good time. Breeze is talking about breaking out his Ducati 907, so that should entice some folks (no pressure Breezer).

I think this might be worth saying since it has been a year ago that we got the Dusty's meet-up going on Thursdays. There are people new to the forum who might want to know. Thursdays at Dusty's is not a club - not even a group. It's just Dusty's. In fact, it's not even Dusty's. I'm not sure those folks have even noticed that bikes show up on Thursday. I know some folks who have met there on other nights and may be doing so now. The Thursday people are a constantly changing bunch. Some come often. Some come rarely. Some use this forum. Some don't. Some eat there. Some don't. Some go for a group ride afterward. Some don't. We have sportbikes, dual-sports, touring bikes, cruisers, vintage bikes and scooters. Some of us who are pretty regular have bikes that lean toward the sporty end of the spectrum so the typical bike lineup reflects that. The group rides are often brisk but I've never seen any stupid stuff that made me feel uncomfortable. There is no designated leader (although I've probably voiced my opinion more than I should - Sorry.) Personally, I would welcome anyone on any bike (or trike.) I think it's pretty fun just to meet up with other bikers and shoot the breeze (not this Breeze) The rides are fun but it makes perfect sense that some won't want to ride. That's cool.

Thumbs up
I see you guys & gals out there at Dusty's almost every week while I'm working. And I get so doggone jealous! You all look like you're enjoying yourselves. Hope you don't mind if I swing by and wave once in a while, from the blue car with all the pretty lights on top...

It seemed a little chilly last night, but there was a group there, grinning from ear to ear. What a crazy mix of bikes too. Love it!

Take care. Guy

Just as long as those lights aren't flashing.

Short ride up Stemilt Creek road and down Joe Miller Road. That is one of my new favorite stretches around here. Got to the bottom of Joe Miller and BSed for a while, enjoying the lack of wind and telling stories about what happens to dogs who latch onto a cloth tied to a car wheel when it's driving by. All-in-all a good ride even though it was somewhat short. And yes Ted, we did figure it out after a while.
