Yeah... I usually use 'em for an alternate riding position, though. I've got a sissy bar, too!BTW, we really shouldn't be using the right lane for this ride. We need to all stay in the HOV lane. If we stick to the right lane, we'll have to contend with entering and exiting traffic, and we'll be occupying an "open" lane of travel. | |

| Newbie Joined: Apr 2006 From: Lakewood, WA I Ride: 2000 Suzuki Bandit 600 | It looks like the ride might be affected by this: Weekend Closures On I-405 At Kirkland The Transportation Department is closing the northbound lanes at Totem Lake tomorrow night until early Tuesday morning for work on new access ramps. As part of the project, workers will tear up 920 feet of pavement and lower the freeway three feet to maintain clearance at an overpass (at Northeast 124th Street). Only a two-lane bypass road will be available during the work for northbound traffic. At least three southbound lanes should remain open. |

I say keep the route and take the side street. If traffic is too much... Can we take the 118th St exit, (if it's before where the closures are) and then take NE Juanita Dr all the way up to Kenmore and connect w/ 522? Otherwise we could cut it really short and hop on the 520 over to 5 south? |

All we would need to do is control traffic for a min at the next intersection as we pop a u turn and head back south on 23/montlake opposed to using I-5 because THAT puts us having to do them hills we were trying to avoid!!! |

| Railer Joined: Feb 2006 From: Lynnwood, WA I Ride: 2007 GSX-R600 | I think a seperate thread detailing this ride for Ty ought to be created. The subject of this thread is regarding the fundraising aspect and it's moving away from that. A list or sign up sheet should be made of all the things [still] needed. Paper plates, cups, sauce, noodles, utensils, hoses, soap, buckets, wash rags, towels, etc. With as big as this is getting, it may be necessary to create a seperate thread for the sign up sheet! EDIT: remember, there's a bunch of us who are riding to RMC to help out. We're going to need cars to carry things for us. I myself only have the bike for transportation, otherwise I'd drive. |
