It seems that from forum threads dating back around '07, people have had great experience with SSU. However, when I checked out the recent yelp reviews, I get a completely different story: http://www.yelp.com/biz/shiny-side-u...ervice-everett Are the '09 yelp reviews fake, or has something happened to the quality of the shop recently? |

![]() ![]() | ![]() ![]() keep in mind, people tend to write reviews when they're unhappy, not when things are awesome unfortunately. Last edited by Plummy; 09-16-2010 at 05:56 AM.. |

| Shredder | Adrian has a lot on his plate and has to work like crazy to keep up. But he has always been honest and up front with me. And he knows what he's talking about. |

Just to let all of you know, in 2009 my shop serviced over 415 motorcycles between myself and my assistant. You are reading a small handful of negative reviews on Yelp. I see 3 of them there. In 2010 we are coming up on the 297th work order for the year with some 50 still left. Yeah I get no sleep. 3 negative reviews in 1 year out of 415 serviced motorcycles is less than 1% of all the motorcycles we serviced. I don't know of too many businesses that have that kind of satisfaction rate. In most cases a satisfied customer will pick up his or hers bike and go home. Rarely will they ever bother to get online and write a review about how awesome the service was. An unhappy customer will probably go out of their way to bitch to the world about whatever their complaint might be even if you try to pacify them when they are not right in the first place (not all customers are right and some are just insane) So I have read those complaints, and I know who wrote them all and I do have to laugh at some people. No matter what you do you willl never make some people happy. And in any business you are not going to have a 100% satisfaction rate no matter how hard you try. It just wont happen. But I will always try my best to provide the highest quality repairs to your motorcycle, atv, scooter, or sled and make you satisfied even if you are just plainly grouchy, irritable and always hard to please ![]() ![]() Many of you probably do not know the complete history of SSU. In a nutshell, I started SSU in 2003 out of my garage with 0$ In 7 years SSU has developed a customer base of well over 2500 and services an average of 300 bikes a year. I do not advertise in the Yellow pages and 90% of my business has been word of mouth and repeat customers. If the quality of service was that bad, I would have been out of business a long time ago kids ![]() Anyways, I have been very absent from the forum for a while. I popped my head to check in here and see what is happening and the first thing I see is this *LOL* Well as you folks can imagine, I have been seriously busy and trying to keep things afloat in tough economic times which means I have been getting very little sleep working 14 hour days ( ah the joys of running your own show) I have not had much time to ride let alone sit on my computer and be the post whore I once was *LOL* Matter of fact, I got around 5 hours of riding time in last year and it was all on test rides. But since I am now here posting, I wanted to take the time to thank all of you who have done business with me in the past and let you know that it is very appreciated and without you, SSU would not be where it is today. I also wanted to take this time to let you know that the shop is going through a few changes to help streamline the workflow and run more efficiently. I have recently relocated across the street to a new facility which is much larger and allows for a easier to work in environment. It was also a lot cheaper for rent *LOL* a no brainer. The building owner is also remodeling the exterior of the building which was built in 1910. I will be taking applications a January for 2-3 tech positions as I myself will be needing to retire from heavy mechanical work as I have developed some health problems and have not been feeling the best for a while. I will go on to overseeing the techs and managing the office and phones and working on engine builds and restorations while there will be a dedicated tech for tire, chain and brake service and one for tune up services. But they, thanks for asking about us. And thank all of you again! |

I haven't taken my Duc to him yet, but if I ever have anything serious go wrong outside of warranty I'd certainly consider it. I remember when he was still working out of his garage, one of my first visits, he had a DSM or two (I was driving one at the time) and a Duc 999 or 749 motor torn apart, nitrous Busa in the corner (his) and a Turbo-Charged Busa under construction. If the complaints he gets are that he's too busy, it is more of a compliment than a complaint. |
