I saw the thread BEFORE it was locked, and did it using my phone so dates of posts are also a little hard to read. If you think it's funny, enjoy it. If you are serious regarding this ride - I'm in on weekdays |

| Novice Racer | ![]() I was serious, 101 is a ride on my bucket list. But, thanks to His Majesty, the thread is dead....along with the ride....and this forum. |

| Streetfighter Joined: Feb 2007 From: Seattle I Ride: 06 600RR | Travis has a point, if he wants to bump it saying "hey this ride was fun let's do a repeat" why not? Would it be easier to say "hey this ride was fun," (insert dead thread), let's do it again! Just change the title each year "cascade ride 2012, 2013" Then year 3 comes around, you get the point.... it's a rhetorical question. |

Each year, start a new thread, and add a link to the previous thread(s) as appropriate. That way there's not one gigantic clusterfuck of a thread with multiple years of shit that will confuse the ever living fuck out of people. But hey, that's not sensible, now is it? ![]() ![]() *edit* Oops, think I found it. I did overlook it. ![]() As for asking about repeating the ride? Bumping it does the exact thing that the policy about not bumping old date/time specific threads is for. It dredges up an old thread that's date specific, and allows for the potential confusion of someone thinking it's a valid ride. It's just as simple to create a new thread, ask your question, and link to the old thread. That way all new and currently relevant posts and information are in a new and relevant thread and doesn't require sifting through all the pages of a four year old thread to find what's new versus what's old. You might not agree with the policy, but it's not one that I foresee changing. The logic behind it is reasonable and until the policy proves itself otherwise, it'll stay in place. You can't even keep up with your own rules, no wonder you suck as a Moderator.

![]() ![]() Joined: May 2007 From: The Wet Eastside I Ride: CBR 600RR | ![]() The "no thread to link to another thread" rule is to prevent creating a thread in one section of the forum... and then creating another thread in a separate thread saying "go look at this!". In the example we're discussing, you'd be creating a ride thread and linking to an old thread as an explanation of the history. That's not cross-posting (which is what you're arguing it is). |

You say "no grey areas" like that's a bad thing. Rules are black and white, no room for interpretation by enforcers, that's how a dictatorship is run. You're the guy that Moderates as he see fit. Enforcing rules when and where you want, to whom ever you want, depending on if you're in favor with them or not. Letting some threads run amuck, if you find it humorous, burying others if you don't. Doesn't matter, it is just the internet, right? But it does reveal a lot about you. Ever notice how no one ever agrees with you? I wonder why that is?
