I Ride: An 06 R6 with OPRT
New Bike!
After a long drive and back to/from Portland to deliver my CBR1000RR to its new owner, I picked up this little gem! 2006 R6 raven, 100% stock, 7,000 miles, clean title, has seen the ground once or twice, but nothing major, nothing broken. I have a line on some track plastics, get some new tires, and I'm ready to Rock and Roll!

All I'll say is, I could make $1,500-$2,000 off it in a heartbeat if I sold it.

I changed my mind with what I'm going to do with it. Its going to serve both duties for this year. I'll spend the money to get all track plastics, springs and valves, rearsets and levers, PC and quickshifter, sliders, tires and trackdays. In return for my selfish spending on my bike, I'll take the wife on a vacation. Win/win for me. I wont have to hear any complaints about my track habit this year.

I cant imagen that CBR wast good enough for track. Why is everyone so set on R6? I had one and didn't like it for street riding.

Sounds like you are planning to dump all that money you potentially saved into some sweet parts

The CBR was great. I just felt it was a bit much sometimes. I couldn't afford to start getting into fairings, and suspension upgrades. Now I have some play money, and can wring the neck of the R6. I think I'll improve faster on a slower bike. I put plenty of miles on the 1000 to know what they're all about. I don't need 160 horsepower to go fast
