I had to go to Southcenter Mall today to pick up a Craftsman tool at Sears...I normally try to avoid the place. Anyhow, the wife wanted to come with so we took the car instead of the bike. As we were walking in, we passed an R6 parked in one of the little, goofy-shaped spots at the end of each parking line, that is too small for anything but a bike. It is where I would likely have parked, had I rode there. The Mall security dude was in the process or writing the R6 a parking ticket, so I stopped and talked with him briefly. Long story short, the security guy said that unless you want a ticket, all vehicles, including bikes, must park in the marked vehicle stalls. So...park where you want, but be warned...Southcenter Security is looking for a bit more revenue. |

| snowshoe kitten... prrr... | 1. Its a private security company... what are they going to do if you do not pay them? 2. The lines are painted on the ground for a reason. Without them everyone cept my gf would just jam their car in as close to the door as they could get. 3. I used to take the bus to southcenter all the time a couple years back for the motorcycle awareness protests. They seemed pretty bike friendly back then. New ownership maybe? |

Officer friendly of the south center security walks up to us immediately and says "I don't know what you guys are doing but if you're making some Kind of transaction take it elsewhere." Then stands there and hassles us until we both left. My plan was to take 5 sec to get a signature and head into sears, but f that, I'll go elsewhere from now on. |

But like others I avoid the place if possible. Too many shootings. How ridiculously dumb are they when attempting to sanction motorcyclists who don't use a full sized vehicle space? |

| snowshoe kitten... prrr... | ^that looks like a legit out of the way spot. i get why they don't care if you park there. we should still fuckin protest against the facist security state for not wanting people to park in places wheretheir bike could easily be taken out by a careless parking lot driver!!!1 |

| Peg Dragger Joined: Apr 2011 From: Seattle I Ride: "GSXR 1 million " | those are very beautiful bikes but I thought that you were allowed to park on hashed spots unless the owner of the property states otherwise. You are able to argue the ticket and say that it was not clear that you weren't able to park on the hashed lines at that specific lot. at least that's what I would do if I got a ticket , and then never do it again anywhere in southcenter.. especially park right at a sidewalk. |
