So I get a Voxer from my neighbor tonight telling me her boyfriend picked up my bike, that it was on it's side when they went out back to grill. WTF!!! GD tweakers scaled our common area fence, knocked over my bike and now my rear plastics are nice and busted. :( At least they busted the same side that I low-sided a few months ago, so at least it all matches.

They swiped everything they could off the Vespa bait I share my spot with. Jackasses. Looks like I'll be taking my friend up on their garage offer, just sucks I'll have to drive a bit to ride my bike.

Question for you track goers...I'm schedule to go to the track on Friday (I'm a nOOb)...will it matter that I have cracked plastic going in? I know I may have them coming out...haha.

duct tape is your friend

duct tape on the inside of the plastics, until you can repair them.
or take them off. naked is better.

Thought I'd throw up some before and after photos. I got ambitious, and rather than use duct tape, I went and bought some JB-Weld, painters tape and got crafty.

I used blue painters tape to hold the cracks together tightly in place. Then used a Dremel to drill out the cracks a tiny bit on the backside so that the KiwiPlastik Weld would adhere better. Smeared the weld compound into the drilled out cracks and waited for it to set. Voila! Not to shabby for my first plastic repair.

I've got a spare set of plastics from an '09. There are a couple of small scratches, mostly on the left side, but I want to get rid of them. Take a look in the classifieds (if you haven't already, I need to go check that thread....).

They look the same in the pictures, not sure what, if anything, is different in the color scheme.
