Saving ONE PERSONS life is worth a lot. How can you place the value of a human being based on their future earnings? I can tell you that the value of someone's Mother, Father, Daughter, Son, etc......is worth a lot to me. But i guess that's why i serve my country.

well whats the cost of 1 human life to you?
what most don't realize is all the security surrounding the ferry boats , along with other things, are NOT for you, their there to take the boat, air plane ect, out in the event something does happen
comforting huh
I mean come one they are armed with 50 cal armor piercing rounds , what did do you think that's for
( putting big holes in the side of the ship to sink it )
in the governments eyes your life isn't worth shit and YOU are expendable
Misinformed. Not .50 cal. no light framed aluminum helicopter could take the abuse from the recoil. it would tear it apart. The weapons are much lighter. more of a SAW. And the weapons are used for disabling fire on a targets engines.

I've never seen a .50 mounted on a helicopter before. Nothing bigger than a 7.62mm. Not saying there never has been but if it was I'd like to see that thing shoot and stay steady.

Same weapons

the small boats never had .50 cals. they had M60's for a long time. now they have M240's. the bigger boats still have 50's though.

I guess you check with the Courts. They seem to be able to place a $ value on the life of a biker being mowed down by a "failure to yield" cager.

Had a friend get hit on the end of Everett May Way and 526. Dude ran the light and took him out.
Because he had no job and didn't graduate/drop-out, he was in the courts eyes....worhtless.

Cager got a ticket.

IMO, the FED's will cut you lose, let you die if it will save money, save face or make someone else look bad!

Rant over.

I concur. you stated earlier that the guns had armor piercing rounds to take out the ferry. that's not right. you get that now, i'm sure.

All the escort boats are there to do is protect the ferries AND landings from outside threats. the interior safety of the ferry is provided by numerous sources. the K-9's walking the piers are explosives trained. other than that, regular security? random police officers on board? I'm not sure. They are state boats. the international ferries are even harder. I guess we can just hope that the rest of the DHS is doing it's job, wasting tax dollars?

We can't afford it. Not even close with the dem program and a complete joke with the con program.

Try not to be so sensitive and start crunching numbers.

I was giving the coast guard the benefit of the doubt, trying make a boring job sound cool lol
that would cost way to much lol
I do believe the officers that work the docks and the boats are being employed by a private company , its the same as if they were working as security at a baseball game

And I am glad you are. Thanks.

To those who get all tin-foil hat about this stuff, I will tell you that there is a huge amount of information coming down. Good men and women working hard to filter out the chaff from the wheat, and getting the 'need to know' to those that need to know.

Pete, thanks for serving. Served 69-71 USArmy and gave up reminding those with no experience that the services help preserve their right to keep making nonsense arguments. There isn't a cure their habit.

Too many to multi quote.

yeah, those ferries don't have the thickest skin. BUT, the concrete behind them is pretty strong

Norm, as always, you funny.

Djacobsen, thanks for your service.
