I thought with the riding season upon us, my fellow Westside riders might benefit from this thread. Listed below are the Westside lawyers who I've heard can help. A number of forum members have used them, all you have to do is use the Search Function to find their stories. Feel free to add any other Westside lawyers you'd recommend that aren't already listed. I don't make any money by listing them.. and I don't care if you pass them along.. If you have a new one, or one for a specific area (ie eastern WA, or Southern WA or oly Pen) Lemme know, and I'll add. Also if you find any incorrect info, LEMME KNOW! I speak (unfortunatly) from experience.. I've successfully used lawyers all over.. I've personally had success with: phipps silva sheene greene ellington I have tended to steer clear of the muckelstone trifecta.. they're badass for sure, but pretty damn spendy.. Greene is one of my favorites.. phipps comes in a close second.. I've only used ellington once.. (olympia) but that was a big one.. and he came through with flying colors. |

I will agree with Brian on theis Mike S. did a great job for me in getting my ticket kept off my record. Only had to do a 4 hour on line traffic class for $35.00 Not bad for getting caught with the front tire in the air and 62 in a 35.. I will use him again any time needed. | |

I got tired of threads like these so I hosted all the info on my site. and the location is helpful so you can pick an attourney that is local to the ticket. |

| Pit Crew Joined: Apr 2006 From: Seattle I Ride: Duc | Thanks for the list. Here's what I learned calling around today - Thanks again for the help everyone, I figured I'd post up what I've learned so far, in case you ever need it. Some of it is obvious and common sense, some less so. I've been on the phone calling quite a few different lawyers and here is what I've learned so far. First, a lot of it appears to be luck of the draw based on what county you received the ticket in. Some are much stricter than others. For instance, I was told Grays Harbor county is strict and you have very little chance of getting a dismissal, while others are almost the opposite. Second, try to find someone local and competent to deal with it, so you don't have to pay someone for travel time as well as the ticket fee. Anyone from Seattle wanted $600 plus combined (One person was nice enough to tell me this straight up, and recommend some lawyers down in the south end ) Also, if you did pay someone to travel there is a possibility they would find a lawyer they know, and are confident in, to deal with the case for them and pocket the travel money. Third, the lawyer will mainly try to find little technical details that the officer didn't execute perfectly to void the ticket. This supposedly is why they are often not interested in the details of your particular ticket (other than the type of infraction). Fourth, a percentage of the community that deals with this particular type of law practice (traffic law) is not pleased with the Mucklestones ending up in the Seattle Times talking about how they often get people out of tickets. While it might have been good publicity for them, it has made everyone's jobs harder. And, certain counties took a look at how much money they were losing by people getting out of tickets in the ways that were mentioned in the Seattle Times article and have taken steps to prevent this from happening. Fifth, the deferral law is at the discretion of the particular county and judge. So, even though they might grant one most of the time they don't have to. Often, if you lawyer sees that the judge isn't buying any of the arguements presented, and is tiring of them, they will bring up a deferral as an option to avoid you losing outright. The average fee seems to be $300-$350, although I've talked to people who have paid as little as $150-200 and had it dismissed. Best wishes for you not needing this information in the future ... but, I suppose if you're looking at this thread you probably do. Last edited by Mitch; 03-22-2007 at 01:26 AM.. |
