My bad ... sorry forgot to mention I know that any FRS radio will work, what I was interested in is exactly what you mentioned! *LOL*

Does anyone know if the Nady unit is "usable going down the road at speed"

Are the "Included" microphone, etc worth anything?

• Noise canceling in-helmet headset with PTT or VOX operation with500mW, 2-mile range
• Includes special helmet mount headset with noise canceling/wind blocking mic and quick-disconnect

Allright, since no-one replied I move that we officially make 02-08 the designated channel for Northern ID / Eastern WA (drawing a North/South line through the state centered on Yakima and Ellensburg...

It's only 2 sub channels up from 02-06, and if you're really concerned about not being able to switch from one to the other you can just kill the subchannel option and use 02 wide open.

I just got a another chatterbox so I will be using it when I ride most of the time. I mostly just listen for traffic unless I'm riding with someone else.

Almost 90% of the time I ride I have mine on, listening (and occasionally talking) on 2-06 in the Tacoma area.

I just got mine from Cycle Gear. I was also worried about this. The manager said they have a 100% satisfaction guaranty. He said if it gets wet, they will swap me out for a new one. Thats insurance you cant buy.

As far as the 02-06, Ill run it for awhile.....

I had mine in the rain many times. Even in a monsoon type downpour. It still works.

Dumb question...Does it have any secured channels? I would be afraid of the local 50 listening in...

I installed mine under the cheak pads. Cutting works too though. If the speakers won't fit under, try buying smaller ones. I'll show mine if you want. I'm free in the morning tomorrow. Call me, we can meet somewhere between Tacoma and Seattle.

Just as a common courtesy for those that listen to music through their Chatterbox-check your VOX. Remember wind noise can turn on the mic and if it does it broadcasts to everyone-and cuts out their music. I hate the VOX, I actually just use the button to talk.

2. Tell them that you are from "PNWR" and want to get the Chatterbox X1 $221 plus shipping deal that Bret from PNWR setup.

3. They will take your credit card info including expiration date and the code from the back of your card

If you have any questions PM me.
Is this deal still available? Would it still be a good deal?

Yes 2-06 is the PNW rider channel. Others use different channels for riding in large groups, but most use 2-06.
