The title of this thread reminds me of that scene from "Monty Python's Life of Brian where Brian is trying to tell a crowd that they are all different:

Brian: "Look, you've got it all wrong! You don't need to follow me, you don't need to follow anybody! You've got to think for yourselves! You're all individuals!"
The Crowd (in unison): "Yes! We're all individuals!"
Brian: "You're all different!"
The Crowd (in unison): "Yes, we are all different!"
Man in Crowd: "I'm not..."
The Crowd: "Shhh!"

Just because we're all on this forum together, doesn't mean we will be sheeple.

Here's my take on it:

Lots of riders make friends with other riders. I've met a ton of new people by riding, and have become good friends with a few. I didn't necessarily "pick" certain people to ride or not ride with at the beginning. Things just happened over time and I became friends with certain people.

This lady obviously wants to meet and make new friends, and feels that religion is an overwhelmingly important factor in her life. She wants to make new friends with others like her who ride.

Is it discriminatory? Yes.

Do I date chicks that smoke? No.
Is that discriminatory? Yes. My choice though. What's the big difference? It doesn't mean I hate girls that smoke, it just means they won't be in my life in a certain aspect.

So why would anyone get buttsore over the issue? If she wants to meet other people like herself to ride with, that's her business. I won't be riding with her as religion isn't a hugely controlling factor in my life, and it's not something I'll use to discriminate against who I ride with.

P.S. - This is real life. Not a job interview, not some sissy-ass social program, and not a government agency. People can discriminate on any damn thing they choose to. We are all old enough to know this and deal with it.
