sense of humor/humor:

Humour or humor (see spelling differences) is the ability of people, objects, situations or words to evoke feelings of amusement or happiness.

The term derives from the humoral medicine of the ancient Greeks, which stated that a mix of fluids known as humours (Greek: χυμός, chymos, literally: juice or sap, metaphorically: flavour) controlled human health and emotion.

A sense of humour is the ability to experience humour, although the extent to which an individual will find something humorous depends on a host of variables, including geographical location, culture, maturity, level of education, intelligence, and context. For example, young children may possibly favour slapstick, such as Punch and Judy puppet shows or cartoons (e.g. Tom and Jerry). Satire may rely more on understanding the target of the humour, and thus tends to appeal to more mature audiences. Non-satirical humour can be specifically termed "recreational drollery".

Winter:

The ability to destroy a general persons grasp of sarcasm, comedy or irony. A gradual loss of rationality. See "crazy" See also "cabin fever" See also also "PNWR".

Get over it, if someone wants to ride with only certain people they should be able to.

They can look like a fool posting the thread . . . but whatever.

I've only skimmed over this latest 'trend' of threads, and yes obviously most are meant to be just be a joke... however the christian one didn't exactly come off as a joke. Anyone disagree w/that? ... so where's the humor in that? I don't see OOk's post ^ applicable to that thread.

You are 100% correct BGL. Her thread was sincere. All the comments and dumbass threads that it spawned are, at the least, bad taste.

I wouldn't blame her a bit if she didn't come back.

It is one thing to poke fun at an 18 yr old trying to recruit riders for a goofy stunt team....it is quite another to do what has been done here.

It's intentionally hurtful, and just plain wrong.

MJN: frankly i don't agree with splitting rides & riders up per religion & have pretty much been long against the dedicated 'Christian' section here. I would say it portrays the forum with bias - That being said i guess there's some lines i won't cross and creating 'one-off' threads like these is not something i'd probly do, but that doesn't mean i don't see the humor in a few of them. - Generalizing all of 'these' threads as 'humor' though is contradicted by threads that are clearly serious.

So it would be OK to make fun of someone for something you don't agree with, but it becomes offensive when they poke fun at something you hold dear?

Lighten up.

Welcome to America and your right to be offended about anything and everything.

That is unless you are a straight, healthy, non-religious, white male, between the ages of 21-39.

I will ABSOLUTELY agree that white straight males are fucked. I've been preaching the message of TRUE equality for years, but it falls on deaf ears.

You don't see a bit of difference between a young person recruiting for a stunt team...that "rides dirty"...
and an adult simply looking for like minded people?

But I suppose there are some parallels.....

She didn't sound like she wanted non-Christians to join in the rides. Perhaps she's joking but some didn't see it that way. Hence, I can see why others feel offended by it. The way I see it, the silly threads started by that bunch of people were a form of protests. Bad taste, yes, childish, yes, but that's their way of protesting. However, to give LG some credits, she did post later and said all were welcome to ride with her.

Preach on brother! I get no breaks from anybody for anything.

My best friend is a black disabled veteran... all he needs is a sex change operation and to convert to some obscure religion and he can sue anyone for anything.
