Some Hyosung grammar for everyone :)
So I was out riding the Hyosung around the harbor today and while I was stopped for a drink I decided to read in full detail the little sticker on the gas tank. I found their English to be sub-par so I thought you guys might enjoy reading some of the text I found. Here are some of the warnings it gave out:

-Do not be touched on muffler because its hot.
-Do not make illegal modification for the safe riding.
-Take the inspection and the maintenance according to the regular checklist of the owners manual.

Although you get the basic message you would think they could hire at least one English speaking person in all Korea just to do a simple grammar check. But no.. Happy Valentines day all

Well to be honest I dont have a whole lot of riding experience on this bike and have only been on a couple others. My biggest complaint is the gearbox which is just a royal pain sometimes. My brother had this bike before me and I know he had to get some work done with it already, I think a new clutch cable and something having to do with the throttle control or something . But I have a lot of fun when riding it and I cant complain because technically its not really mine and Im merely taking care of it for a couple years. When I do buy my own bike it will not be a Hyosung, most likely its cousin the Sv650s.

Didn't Hyosung actually make some SV's for suzuki? I don't remember who told me that.

My understanding is, the 1st gen designer of the (original) SV engine went to Hyo (eventually, years later? after 2nd+ gen?) But i've never heard of anything being interchangeable at all - & no i don't think 'ive seen anything saying hyo built engines for suzuki

Wall Street Journal had an article a couple of months ago about Hyosung and it mentioned that it had been making "parts" for Suzuki since the late 70's. They didn't specify what "parts" they were. It also mentions it on the Hyosung USA website and the Hyosung Korean website as a "technology cooperation agreement". That might be more R & D than anything else but who knows.

From a creditable source I understand there is a part that is swappable between the motors... the oil fill cap.

I believe that Ken said is true.

There was a small discussion about this on another forum in girl land and how Hyosung has been making many parts for many different things for many years in their many wonderful korean ways.

History

Founded in 1978 as a division of the Hyosung Group of industries, Hyosung began producing Suzuki motorcycle designs under license for the Korean market in Changwon, South Korea in 1979. In 1986, they established their own research and development center in Hamamatsu, Japan, and the next year, they began mass production of their own designs. They were the official motorcycle supplier for the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul. In 2003, Hyosung Motors & Machinery Inc. was spun off from the Hyosung Group to become its own corporate entity. In June of 2007, Hyosung Motors Division was acquired by Korean company S&T Motors (Science and Technology).

Hyosung today

Recently, they have expanded from their traditional business of simple, efficient bikes for commuting into the highly competitive recreational market. This includes adding models with larger engine displacement, up to 650cc (with 1000cc models planned); and expanding into developed markets such as Australia, Northern Europe, and the United States.

I'm sure it'll have some translation errors, but I'd challenge you to write your next post in Korean...

I like my Aprilia manual-
On about the first page it states "If you are racing, please refer to those settings."

I can't write in Korean, but I'm also not a large corporation that should have the resources to hire at least one person who can do a grammar check on my product. That was my main point.

That looks like fine literature compared to what came with the Chinese mini bike I bought! I'll have to see if I can find the "manual"?
