This shit started last year, hence the endorsment act. Since April this shit has been ramping up against sport bike riders. The I-5 incident only made more of the public more aware that there are people "do" shit like stunting on freeways and other dangerous acts.

So naturally they are stepping up their presence and cracking down on all us "dangerous" sportbike riders. I'm willing to bet that high school age alcohol parties will be the fade next month. Mean while we have to tough it out and take the expected ass raping" by the LEO until they find their next fad. Although I won't just take it in the ass...I too recently got screwed over some bullshit (8mph over in a 60 that was bullshit) and have court coming up. Main thing for us all is to put up one hell of fight before we get raped in court too. Dispute it all and state your case of innocence. Cost the state more money to take us to trial than its worth.

My opinion is to fight every little thing...make a statement. What's the worse they're gonna do? Find you/me/us guilty? Well either way the verdict falls guilty or not it's worth the fight in hope of winning the system thats set up for us to lose.

Good luck with your day in court, keep us posted.

I Ride: In full tuck at 35 mph
The saddest part about all this shit is what it is costing the rider. Bail. Impound. Lawyer. Fines.

Some are deserved. Some are bullshit. Two of the recent ones (this one included) are definately bullshit. And Chato won't recover any of that money either.

Chato-

This is such cr<p man. We have ridden together several times and I know that what you are accused of is totally unlike your riding style.
I was on that same road a few weeks ago and there were sport bikers utterly hauling ass. The cop COULDN'T DO HIS JOB by catching the right motorcyclist and instead chose to ticket you. He acted as if you were a felon, and you obeyed every direction given by the first LEO.
Fight this.

Update
Wow, so most of you know about my little adventure at the beginning of this summer with one of Thurston Counties finest. So here is a little update.

My next door nieghbor is a TC Sheriff and I was telling him about what happened, apparantly the officer that arrested me is a well known ass hat in the department, he was described to me as the easter bunny on meth. The perfect description that comes to mind is Farva from the movie Super Troopers (if you haven't seen it, you should).

I still haven't been charged with eluding (which is why I was arrested) but went to court on Oct 16th for the speeding ticket, Tom Ellington had the ticket dismissed. So $1,000.00 later all is good.
