I Ride: When ever possible and usually on 2 wheels.
Who's Next: Not so Free Ride in a Cop Car
Head south on Black Lake Blvd. Turn left on to Delphi heading south and about a mile or two down the road there is a sharp left, a quarter mile straight away, and a sharp right. I come through the left hand turn (practicing getting my butt off the seat and kissin the mirror) rolling on the throttle and going about 50 upon exit, a little over halfway through the straight away I pass a sheriff (I was doing 50 in a 40). I'm watching in the rear view to see if he turns on his lights, but he just keeps going, so I figure I'm good and put my focus on the upcoming right hand corner, and the numerable corners which follow. I'm cruisin and turn left onto 110th and then right on Little Rock rd headin south.

As you come into Little Rock the speed drops from 50 to 35, and I see a sheriff coming towards me. I look down and I'm doing 45, the sheriff flips his lights on and turns around. I pull over, turn off my bike and take my helmet off as the police officer is getting out of his car and walking towards me. He says "Do you know how fast you were going?" Thinking I'm about to get a speeding ticket, I respond "I don't know, about 40 or 45." He asks for license and registration and says "No, I mean on the other road, why didn't you stop for the other officer who tried to pull you over." I'm like, " what other officer, I past one earlier but he just kept going the other way." Officer says "How fast were you going?" I'm like "I don't know?" "Well just hang out for a minute, the other officer is on his way here."

So I'm putting my tail bag back on after getting my reg. out from under the tail cover and the other cop shows up and begins charging towards me. He's yelling at me "put the bag down and put your hands behind your back! You're under arrest!" He cuffs me and is yelling something like - I know what your up too, you were trying to evade a police officer....I was doing over 100 and couldn't catch you..blah blah...blah.(adrenaline is kicking in, I'm just thinking in my head, if I was running from cops, why did I stop when the leo turned on his lights????????), but I just kept my mouth shut. He throws me into the back of the cop car. I'm still in my full one piece leathers and boots (not comfortable in cuffs and in a sealed up cop car, in case your wondering!) After about 10 minutes (and the fact that I'm completely legal, in every way) the other leo comes back and asks if there's anything I want off my bike. Then a few minutes later the arresting leo comes back and is all nice, and asks if I want to stretch and says I'm probably pretty hot in the suit. He lets me out, loosens the cuffs, and tries to make small talk. He says, "You must have been going well over 100," I shrug. He's like, "do you race?" I said, "I plan on doing a track school this summer." "Well, you have really great control on that bike, you know its not fair, you get that and I'm stuck with this piece of shit car." I shrug, and puts me back in the car.

So we are headed back to the station and he is taking back roads cuz of the accident on I-5. He's having to go like 5 under around every corner cuz that p.o.s. lug of a car can barely make the turns. He asks me what my favorite radio station is and turns it to 97.7. We get to the jail and he asks me if I'm able to make collect calls, and I told him my wife is on her cell. He hands me my cell and says I can call her. Anyway its like 5 and I end up sitting there in holding (did get a nasty cheeseburger and tator tots) till 7 to get booked and bailed out. As they release me they hand me a traffic violation that says I was doing 65 in a 50 and the "pace" box is checked. They also gave me a form saying that I'd be sent a court date for charges yet to be filed (eluding or something like that). So $250.00 to get bailed out, $300.00 to get bike out of impound. So who's next for the fun.

OMG! What a farse! Notguiltyagain@aol.com. Tom Ellington is the best. He will beat this in a skinny minute. It will cost you a little bit, but enough to out weigh the ticket and the insurance increase.

Holy F'ing shite dude I would be getting a laywer on this one and be filing some harassment complaints against TCO.

BTW I could have told ya to stay off Delphi.

Fookers are setting up everywhere we are gonna have to head to the deep back roads to even enjoy riding without getting harassed.

Well, since the original LEO lost sight of whoever they were chasing it should be easy to get a not guilty verdict with a good lawyer. It certainly does suck that you have to pay a ton of $$$$ out of pocket for a case of mistaken identity.

I had this happen to me and a friend once. Except we never saw the "first 2 cops that turned around" Im calling bs but when I got into my town there was a road block. Here we come just trucking along at the speed limit when were swarmed by cops?? WTF We explained where we were coming from and with 20mins of hastling, they had no proof and let us go. I asked the cop to have the "other 2 cops that turned around" identify us. As we were on bright yellow/blk and orange/blk bikes with yellow and red mohawks on ( cant really mess up that decription) but both said that the rate of speed was soo high, the bikes had no color to them as it was starting to get dark out. AGAIN no proof, let us go.

Sorry to hear about your luck man.

Next time I would either ask him really relevant questions. The idea is never to admit to anything, any speed, any actions, anything. "This can and will be used against you in a court of law" not "Can and will be documented to help you when you get to court" If you had admited to 10 over, your liable to do other illegal actions. Did the other LEO show up, the one that said it was you?

Damn Chato, you are having some bad luck! This could be some serious stuff they charge you with. I'm not sure I would depend on an divorce attorney you'll probably get with the prepaid thing? I think I'd contact Tom Ellington "NotGuiltyAgain@aol.com" and see what you can work out with him. He may be the best and most experienced traffic attorney in the State?

Sorry Man!

That's some bad stuff! Delphi hasn't provided a good run of luck for too many, myself included.
You would think with all the domestic Violence, meth, bums on the street of our Capital, etc.... the sheriff would stop with the BS profiling of sportbike riders.
Back in the day that shit would never happen.
But that was Harleys and a long time ago.....
