If I'm not mistaken, that's the curve right next to that cement pond (literally -- cuz it ain't no "pool" in the traditional sense of the word ). Yeah, that "Warning - Slow Kids Playing" sign has been there for at least 4 years.

Asshats are gonna' rail on BHR. All of the BHR bashing and "cops on BHR" threads in the world aren't gonna' change that. All I ask is that said asshats keep it to the weekends, so ckender and I don't get harrased for your shit during our commutes

It's too bad people live along BHR. If it weren't for those pesky people who spent their hard earned dollar to buy that property, we could rail BHR day and night without some old coot getting pissed off at us

Please don't. Most of my riding is on that road, and I still ride slow enough that he could catch me if he tried.

Hey Scarlett, you wouldnt happen to be married to CKEnder would you? The odds of another female living on that road and just learning how to ride there 250 Kawi cruiser are -JUST- astronomical enough to actually be true. lol

I would hope so! Considering you cant even get away from a old grumpy man chasin you on foot.

As you probably know, I've ridden with your hubby a few times. Boy needs to get himself a sportier bike because "cruising" aint what he's cut out for!

Time for a Buell than?? Sounds like it! Though if they ever bring that XR1200 to the states you're the kind of guy they would be targeting. Imagine, a Harley that can handle and has decent power...

When you want to ride again? I saw that you hit up Sultan Basin the other day. I've been meaning to go check it out since I've never been there. Is the road "officially" closed? Or is it a construction detour thing?

I've gotten sprayed with a hose by that old guy. It felt good on my hot leathers on a hot day. I meant to turn around and thank him.

More like "part of the road is missing" detour thing. It's just messed up at the bottom, near hwy 2. The good stuff is in decent shape (could use a little cleaning, but at least the pavement is still there)

As to when to ride...we'll talk

EDIT: And I'm already drooling about the XR1200. No way I'll be getting one, but hey, one can dream.

Is this the big-ass sign you are referring to?

That would be the one. Oh, and yes, the issue that spawned this thread has now officialy interrupted my commute. Found a WSP BMW on Ben Howard on the way to work yesterday. Nice guy. His comments about "kids in the area" (on a school day, after school is in session) made it clear to me that he was there because of neighborhood complaints. So, thanks again.

I'm with you, CK. I might meander down to talk to him about stuff. I think I know him so we'll have a little chat about what dangers there are re: jumping at bikes. There's barbed wire all along that section and it would be really bad if someone ended up into it.

Guys, just do us locals a little favor... really slow down through that part of BH. There's a ton of kids, animals, etc. that live in that area. Please???

Also watch the section of BH around the RV park. Kids, dogs, old folks, etc.

A friend and I was on it yesterday for the first time and we took it slow. Nice road to just crouse on, if I want to go fast and hit some corners ill hit up the track.

As far as keeping them off the only twisty roads nearby? They're public friggin roadways, we 98% obeyed the speed limits, and no one came waving there fists at us. And for the record, I don't hit roads more than once a day at high speed- and NEVER with a noob following me. Though I do normally pre-run them at legal speeds checking road conditions and such.
I rem that day

Naw, he's on a Harley AND he is a local guy. You know they only write speeding tickets to crotch rockets, and DUI's to Harley riders.
