Question PNW Holiday Party - Ideas
Okay.. so I'm stepping up to host a PNW & Friends potluck/party/fundraiser this Holiday Season (much like we did at Bikenut's place last year). But I need your feedback on two issues.

1) Dates: Dec. 6th or Dec. 20th (sorry.. can't do the 13th)

2) If you know of any families either in the community or not that could use a lending hand (money wise) this holiday season then please PM me. I'll form a little committee and from there we'll decide who should benefit.

Thanks!

And I think the 6th would be my vote!

I'm in if b'ham riders are invited. I'm good on the 6th or 20th.

I vote for the 20th - but jwfzr and I may be kicking it at his family's house in Minnesota this December so not sure if I can make it.

If you do the 20th, there's a possibility of my butt showing up.

The rest of me is debatable.

Don't recall if I have a final that day. I know I do on the 19th.

Is this going to be a kid friendly event? I have my daughter on both those weekends.

That's certainly something else to discuss. I personally won't have my kids here for two reason. 1 - I find it hard to play host and mom at the same time and 2. that way people are welcome to crash here if they need to.

I vote kid friendly.. maybe up to a certain time?? Anyone else have any input on this??

I think that we had kid friendly at Dorians last year, and I don't think there was an issue.

Seriously tho, I don't remember any issues with the kids being there, seemed they were all gone by the time the adults got into full swing...I think, I had to leave

well, I don't have too much say in this but just DAMN glad it's happening again. We had little E last year and had NO problem wrestlilng with little ones. If I could throw my useless .02 out there - sorry Sarah, not trying to throw ya under the bus babe. When I have events that involve kids, I start them early in the day. But I don't want to loose focus on what this event IS either. Sarah is opening up her home to us for a great cause. I ALSO know throwing one of these things can be overwhelming..soooo..I MIGHT suggest, kids are welcome. but if some people could VOLUNTEER to help Sarah - with kids, setting up, food. clean up. I PERSONALLY do not like kids in my house when the booze starts flowing.

Hey, I'm out of school by that point, with only one final exam to worry about the next week (if on the 6th), and no problems on the 20th. I can help out with setting up or anything if you need a hand.

I vote for kid-friendly to a certain point in the evening -- that way those with children who can't find babysitters can join in on the fun earlier, and those who just don't like to be around kids can show up later.

*edited because I realized that you're probably looking for input on solidifying a date, and in that case, my vote leans towards the 20th.

Last edited by Phoenixgirl; 11-03-2008 at 08:36 PM.. Reason: to help out with setting a date
