| Superbiker Joined: Dec 2007 From: Auburn, WA I Ride: TODAY, tomorrow, and the next day, F$*K mother nature! | PNW 2009 motorcycle Mileage contest - Seattle/Tacoma So I'm 'stealing' the idea that Mark (mfrankpdx) started HERE in the Portland forum and bringing it up to Seattle. It runs like so: Jan 1st, anyone who wants to join in, posts up a pic of their odometer for proof of mileage. I'd say put it next to the daily paper or something to prove date but I think we can deal without that, its all for fun anyhow! At the 1st of each consecutive month, post up a pic of your odometer, tallying miles for that month and total miles for the year. Maybe we'll figure out a prize, but for now its all just for the fun of it. Anyone can jump in, but as stated in the other thread, might be more fun and 'personal' to start one for each region, to play against other local riders. ** add-on: tally your car mileage per month as well, giving you a car/bike mileage ratio. Lets see who is riding more than driving! Thanks to Gamuru for the idea. ** Ok, everybody that has posted after TheBasque, and everybody going forward, please use this Google Form to input your mileage updates into this Google spreadsheet. Oh, post up if you're in, with the bike/bikes you'll be riding, I'll get a list going . . ![]() Rider________________________Bike(s)______________ ____________________________________ fstenuf..................................04 Yamaha YZF-600R polychlorobenzene...................08 Aprilia 850 Mana Devil_Doc...............................Yamaha XJ600s shelbyguy...............................07 Aprilia RSVR & 03 Honda CBR 600RR hikewithmike........................... 08 Kawasaki Versys Bouncer..................................07 Suzuki GSXR 750 dwntoearth.............................03 Yamaha YZF-600R Grantizzle................................07 Kawasaki KLR650 Cforce....................................03 BMW K1200RS mikefsu...................................07 Aprilia RSVR & 08 Ducati Hyper Gamuru...................................82 Yamaha XJ650 DJ Nathan V............................08 Yamaha YZF-R6 r1eatr.....................................07 Suzuki GSXR 1000 RideSlow2004...........................04 Harley Davidson YotaSupra...............................08 Yamaha YZF-R6s dwschultzy..............................04 Honda CBR 1000RR GSXR_Mark..............................03 Suzuki GSXR 750 WashingtonBlonde.....................01 Yamaha "Smurf" David Davenport.......................98 Honda Nighthawk CB750 Camma83................................07 Suzuki DRZ 400 Snowgirl..................................06 Suzuki Boulevard 800 Bluehaze.................................08 Suzuki GS500F HoneyBunches..........................07 Suzuki GSXR 600 Chameleon...............................08 Buell 1125R Tokin......................................07? | Superbiker | I'll participate in the vintage class. '82 Yamaha XJ650. I wanted to throw out an idea to make this "contest" a little more contesty. How about not only do we track our bike mileage, but we also compare that with the mileage of our personal daily drivers, too. For example, I have an '89 F150. I don't think I put but a few hundred miles on it all of last year as I rode my motorcycle most every chance I got. So, my ratio of total miles traveled would be very heavily favored toward my motorcycle. So, let's say you rode 4500 miles on your bike vs. 900 in your commuter car, this would give you a ratio of 5:1. Now, let's say you rode 6500 on your bike and 5500 in your commuter. Your ratio would be 1.18:1. Obviously, not quite as impressive. Sure, your may have taken a long road trip to rack up the miles, but you're not riding as often as the other guy. Do you think we could somehow incorporate this with the existing contest or have a secondary contest? Thoughts? |

I like it, and anyone who wants in, just take a pic of your car's odo as well, tallying its mileage every month as well. I less than 3k on the car this year and just ready to roll over 15k on the bike. | |

| Endorsed Joined: Jul 2007 From: Pugetopolis, WA I Ride: zedX14/Ktm625SXC sm trim | theory it would work for a lot of people. Me, not so much. I make yearly trips to Cali to hit the track (on my street/track bike) and also to Utah to play at Bonneville. I guess I'd see even more miles on my truck when the sidecar racing season starts. As a % of bike/auto it wouldn't be that great. Also, those who don't own a truck or car would have a built in advantage... |

Hm.. sounds like fun... ![]() Only 10,000 miles on my 1098 since last February, but 4000 of it where from a week long trip to CA. Now, if you want to talk about how 'manly' and 'bikery' you are. How about how many miles you've logged in one day? My top is 980 miles (Monterey CA to Bremerton, WA) in 16.5 hours. |

I'm a puss puss about wind and rain. I can deal with the cold for about an hour before my hands go numb (need winter gloves) I'll probably get back on on a somewhat regular basis about mid February.-when i bought my 250 last february, and traded it in September, I had put just about 10.5K. I like the bike to vehicle ratio...but I share my truck so it wouldn't be so accurate. |

| Superbiker | march 08 to september 08 = 16k....none of them are commuting miles for work....all for fun. i will chime in once i get back on it......would love to see how this turns out by the end of the year. cbrforum.com had the same thing start just this last year. I never jumped on it due to the amount of miles one of the members put on his bike. He had a 04 cbr f4i and at this time last year had logged in well over 120k.... |
