Showing the flag!!
Well as I stated in another thread, since yakima cops seem to think if more than two bikes meeting up is a serious act of terrorism and have spent a larg amount of this summer running us off from all parking lots I suggested in a group text to all riders I have numbers for that we meet up at the sears parking lot this Saturday at 7, we will ride around and through Yakima then end up at the red Robin parking lot if we have enough bikes to "make a political impact" .... if not we will then meet up at the Owens Motorcycle parking lot which they can't get permission to run us out of

THIS IS NOT AN RCW ONLY EVENT THIS IS ALL RIDERS!! SO FAR WE HAVE RIDERS COMING FROM AS FAR AWAY AS SUNNYSIDE FOR THIS!

I don't really get what you are trying to prove by this. Is this for a ride or like you said you are trying to make a political impact because you get kicked out of parking lots?

If it's for a ride I know 509 riders would be down. But if its some kind political statement to the police that you want to park in parking lots that you get kick out of. Contact our Pres. "1eyeblind". We are trying to keep a good image with the police and the general public. Maybe I am not understanding? What are you trying to make a political impact about?

Haha, hes got riders all the way from sunnyside... Im not hating on people from sunnyside by any means. But from my understanding of Sunnyside they dont have the problem we have in Yakima. But oh well... everybody knows somebody in Yakima, so whatever...

And WTF are you doing parked out on a parking lot for THAT long anyways? Arnt bikes ment to be ridden? and not Parked? I dunno about you, but i dont stay in parking lots for THAT LONG anyways... Good luck on your lil "political Protest".

Plus maybe if people would go in and eat at the Red Robins, instead of using their parking lot for whatever, they would be more open to letting people park there. I dunno... I know i used to park there for a long time, but that was back in the day, and i dont give a shit if the cops tell me to leave. Maybe you should sport a RedRobins sticker on your bike... haha... IM sure they would give you free desert.

Lastly... if you are tired of getting ran off of THAT parking lot, its not like there arnt 1000 more you cant pick from. Like try Minors or even Jacksons. Or maybe go back to oldschool and go back on Yakima Ave. Its not that hard to think of another Parking lot... Oh and if you wanna do a "protest" go on the YPD parking lot. THAT Would make a statement.

first of all cops are far more willing to bully small groups of disaffected youthbut are far less beligerant when it comes to larger segments of the population.

2) it is not red Robins parking lot it is the malls parking lot and noone ever parks at that portion of the lot becouse there are no buisnesses there.

3) it does not take an excessive amount of time for the cops to show in some cases it has taken less than 10 minutes.

4) it has less to do with the propeerty owners than police prejudice and as proof i offer the fact that they have litterally followed us to Owens parking lot in the past and had several Cop cars staking us out from the hotel down the street owens is on (sorry don't know the street name) and accross the street at the abandoned gas station and they kept this up for just shy or three hours till we all left.

I have to agree with CBR_racin123. Riding should be about having fun. And not making a political statement. If cops have been harassing bikers. Its probably do to some bikers out causing trouble and screwing around. And if the cops do harass you. I would ask why? Cops are just trying to keep the peace. I say don't give them a reason to target bikers. Just enjoy what little time there is left in the season.

A large reason you have not seen the RCW much this year is we have gone out of our way to avoid the city of Yakima we usually meet and then leave.

last night we were at the red robin for about 4 minutes and had the cops circle us twice then one went to the dark side of the parking lot and waited and watched by the fence where they tore down the old Montgomery Wards building. If they had been CALLED by any buisnesses or do-gooder citizens they would have imeadiatly asked us to leave so since that did not happen I am forced to wonder what their motivations were.

Also I would like to add that since every local group is getting run off from any and all gathering spots but none of you had the desire to show up I think RCW will go back to leaving town and let you guys have it.

I will not speak on this matter again.

Dat was funny Evil_Dave! It was a goood point though. If your not doing anything stupid, there shouldn't be anything to worry about. What we need to do is find some nice business owners that wouldn't mind if we can hang out in their parking lot from time to time.

Show them that you're respectful, normal folks and SPEND SOME MONEY in their businesses and most will not have a problem with you meeting at their establishment.

I just so happen to work in the Nob Hill Plaza and there is a reason why we are not allowed to park/hang out there. The business' dont want loitterers (s/p) It's a bummer because we aren't harming anyone/anything and just hanging and chit chatting but there have been problems in the past with nob hill plaza being the parking lot hang out. They dont want to be responsible for whatever may happen.

There are plenty of places that will let you hang out and chat. Cruisin Coffee is an excellent example. We meet up there alot, have a drink and chat for hours! They have no problem.

I'm not trying to be a b*tch or anything, but I think we should be respectful, leave the parking lot alone and just ride. Thats why our bikes have a motor and 2 wheels right?

i do agree with this, although some business see people on sport bikes as "punk kids". I ride with guys that are 45-50 years old sometimes. But anyways, i don't want what Cody said to be taken as the view of RCW as a whole. He was just trying to put a message out there, and we didn't end up hangin in town anyways, we actually had a good ride and went and turn some corners out by tieton. i think that if we are respectful towards them as much as possible, they may actually give some back. I don't think going and parking somwhere and waiting for cops to come and kick us out is the solution, but when that does happen, if we act like responsible adults, they should have no reason to act like dicks to us in return.
